Summary:
The Washington Nationals are actively searching for an individual who has a passion for serving others and is committed to excellence to be our Coordinator of Nationals Park Events. Nationals Park Events is responsible for selling non-game day events at Nationals Park, such as meetings, receptions, and corporate events, as well as producing concerts, festivals, and non-MLB sporting events. The Coordinator of Nationals Park Events is the administrative, research and analytical support for the department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Administrative:
• Record event leads from all inbound channels (i.e. website, advertising platforms, etc.) into SalesForce.
• Handle reporting for all monthly pace meetings for leadership.
• Route all department contracts and deal sheets to leadership.
• Respond to and troubleshoot inquiries from [email protected] inbox.
• Process department paperwork: creating, scanning, and filing contracts, deposit forms, vouchers, purchase orders, event specifications and other documents.
• Draft service contract deal sheets and track approval status.
• Manage all department purchasing, shipping and storage.
• Maintain files and notes from internal and house account meetings.
• Maintain department event calendar.
• Assist in event day operations as needed.
• Recruit, hire, and manage department interns.
• Assist in client site visits and prospecting events.
Research and Analytics:
• Conduct market research for prospective leads
• Use all department resources (Momentous, Salesforce, Unique Venues., etc.) to run reports and identify potential leads
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, Hospitality, Communications, or another related field
• 0- 2 years administrative experience
• Prior experience in corporate, entertainment, social event management and/or planning preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities necessary to perform essential functions.
• Demonstrated ability to assist in the coordination of a wide variety of public and private events.
• Demonstrated ability to be resourceful and dependable.
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills.
• Must be highly organized and detail oriented.
• Proven ability to effectively collaborate with internal team, cross-functional team, and external parties.
• Knowledge and proficiency in Internet communications technologies, (e-mail, Web, blogs, social media etc.) and MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Physical/Environmental Requirements
• Office: Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work will require weekend and/or evening work.
Compensation:
The projected wage rate for this position is between $18.82-$25.10 per hour. Actual pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to the applicant's: qualifications, skills, expertise, education/training, certifications, and other organization requirements. Starting salaries for new employees are frequently not at the top of the applicable salary range.
