ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
As the Sales Director, you will be in a strategic role, responsible for defining the short and long-term growth strategy in China to secure a leading position for CNN in a fast-evolving market. This will include responsibility for reviewing the existing GTM strategy in order to develop a highly strategic and new approach to the market, while delivering and exceeding the short-term revenue targets and creating a solid basis for sustainable growth.
You will have a key role to play in defining a holistic approach for the CNN business growth in the market across Sales, PR, Marketing, and Events to strengthen the CNN and CNNIC presence in the market, playing an active role in the implementation of this, e.g. participating in speaking assignments, promoting thought leadership pieces, etc.
In this position, you will be the representative for the team, and more broadly CNNIC, at CNN and WarnerMedia senior internal meetings, and will be responsible for leading, developing and managing the teams to the highest standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsibility and full accountability for the revenue generated from the region
• Responsibility for reviewing and optimising the existing GTM strategy
• Responsibility for defining the short and long-term growth strategy and for leading the business of the region with the objective to secure leading position and dominant revenue share for CNN
• Excellent vision of the business in the region and an innovative approach to the business and to the individual accounts are critical. Delivering and exceeding revenue targets and building sustainable revenue growth are the main KPIs
• Responsible for developing and implementing a holistic CNN growth and positioning strategy for the region across Sales, Marketing, PR and Events: set market priorities to PR, Marketing and Events, perform as the thought leader for the region, give interviews, quotes in PR releases, speak at events, etc
• Perfect knowledge of the markets is critical for the role as well as an in-depth understanding of the spectrum of advertising needs – TV, Digital- Programmatic / Standard / Native and Branded Content to maximise revenue in and across markets
• Full accountability for accurate reporting and revenue projections
• Building an excellent internal and external network is critical for the role
• Overall management of all rep and agent relationships in the region
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Proven exposure working in a multi-platform sales organisation with a record of exceeding revenue goals
• Deep experience working with senior decision makers in agencies, and big brands on complex multi-million-dollar campaigns
• Seasoned manager of people with proven experience of motivating, developing and coaching employees across multiple locations and regions
• Can creatively drive revenue using digital and multi-platform sales techniques
• Great relationships / contacts and networks in the region
• Strong commercial instincts and broad commercial experience (deal making, scoping out opportunities, client management)
• Experience of working with legal to define, lead and drive complex deals/contracts
• Capacity to be an excellent ambassador of the brand and the team internally and externally
