Producer II, CNN Video Programming
Location: United States - Georgia - Atlanta
The Job
WarnerMedia seeks a Producer II for the CNN department.
The Producer II is responsible for executing the programming strategy for video on CNN's core owned and operated platforms including desktop web, mobile web, mobile apps and TV apps as well as CNN's off-platform accounts. The role collaborates with the Senior Producer in the development of tactics to deliver business goals as well as the management of daily team assignments. They coach direct reports in career development. This position reports to the Supervising Producer and manages junior team members.
The Daily
• Programs both core platforms and off-platform accounts and monitors content performance and adjusts tactics to deliver business goals
• Collaborates with global programming team on best practices in real-time
• Responsible for management of daily team assignments
• Responsible for writing and testing headlines for optimal performance
• Monitors data to track hourly and daily goals
• Manages delivery of sponsorships
• Communicates network and video programming priorities with team
• Participates in conversations with the team that encourage innovation and growth
• Team lead for special event planning coverage
• Responsible for leading off-peak shifts, such as overnights and weekends
The Essentials
• College degree in Journalism degree preferred
• 5 years producing/writing/editing experiencee in a major news market
• Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro or similar editing system
• Familiarity with analyzing data and using insights to inform editorial decision-making
• Excellent communication skills, news judgment and headline-writing skills
• Ability to lead during breaking news situations
• Ability to make editorial decisions while programming core platforms
• Conveys spirit of teamwork, positive attitude (eager, energetic, team-oriented)
• Flexibility (can deal with rapid changes in news, adapt to breaking news, and handle several tasks at once)
• Ability to work a fast paced 24h/7 news environment
• Ability to work shifts at all times of day and night
