ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The WarnerMedia Physical Production Team oversees the production management of projects to effectively execute the creative of our series, films, documentaries and non-scripted content. This dynamic team is cross functional and ensures our content is produced at the highest legal, safety, creative, and technological standards.
We are seeking an experienced Lead of Physical Production to help manage both developed productions, co-productions and licensed content across our programming; includes all genres and budget levels on a pan-asian regional scale. Responsibilities include creating and overseeing production strategies from start point to delivery. Working closely with creative and showrunners, identifying and hiring line producers, managing relationships with internal / external staff and crew, reviewing budgets and covering best practices from pre-production to delivery. This position will report to Head of Content in Singapore. Working closely with the Development team to share responsibility for supervising all aspects of production. With continued expansion including original film acquisition and production underway, it's a great time to join WarnerMedia Asia.
The successful candidate will be motivated, proactive, intellectually nimble and thorough and able to pivot, juggle multiple and diverse responsibilities with strong organization skills and be detail oriented. This is a highly demanding and fast paced position which requires good judgment and initiative while working with a high-volume production slate. Must be able to work Cross-functionally with other teams.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Pre-production/setup of show
• Work with Finance, Legal, Business, Creative, Engineering, Post & external production
• Develop and manage relationships with producing partners/third parties. Establish close rapport with various government funding agencies to tap onto production funds in the region
• Work with Showrunners, Line Producers and external production executives to prepare and vet show budgets, production plans and schedules
• Review creative and begin defining budgets from pre-production through finishing and delivery
• Track and manage costs and scheduling
• Update cost reports and trackers on a weekly basis alongside Finance and Accounting
• Scheduling draft production and post schedule and collaborate with internal teams and external production team
• Help maintain schedules, troubleshoot and communicate all changes to schedule to internal/external teams staffing/vendors
• Determine key vendors to accommodate creative vision and relationships, tax incentives, budget needs, location issues
• Source/curate preferred crew talent and vendor list
• Operations:
• Liaison between all internal support departments including Creative, Content Operations, Legal, Audit, Accounting, PR, Marketing, Social and Business
• Help ensure that all productions meet delivery schedules, on budget and done safely
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Experience with long form production executive management
• Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and supervising multiple projects in various phases of production
• Leadership experience in a regional or international company or streaming company
• Familiar with the current trends and workflows for both HD and 4K, single cam and multi-cam
• Knowledge and wide contacts of regional vendors and crew/creative talent
• Ability to respond after hours for urgent matters
• Team-player who operates in a fast-paced environment
• Discrete and able to maintain confidential information
• Able to prioritize and respond accordingly
• An effective communicator
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multi-task
• Willingness to continue learning to ensure understanding of current production process and equipment but with a desire to improve the approach to production
• Ability to speak a second language and dialect(s) will be beneficial, Chinese preferred
