Job Description:
Job Title: VP Technical Operations
A little bit about our team:
This position will report to the SVP, Dev ops. The VP Technical Operations has primary responsibility for the overall technical design and implementation of WMG's Global Infrastructure. The role is responsible for sourcing and management of all internal and external infrastructure resources to support a global 24x7 scalable, reliable, secure and cost effective server infrastructure supporting a variety of business units and partners.
Here you'll get to:
• Overall accountability for server infrastructure, storage and backup services, datacenter services, and disaster recovery for on premises and private/public cloud based applications and infrastructure
• Determine and execute an appropriate cloud migration strategy for components of the infrastructure that will reduce total cost of ownership, improve reliability and/or scalability to benefit the business
• Coordination of the people, process, and tools necessary to execute the above migration
• Leverage networking across Cloud, datacenter, VOIP, to reduce costs, improve reliability and increase business agility
• Create multi-year plans to evolve the infrastructure platform and teams to for the above goals
• Manage and negotiate key vendor contracts and relationships
• Develop the annual operating and capital expenditure budget, consistent with overall strategic objectives of IT and the enterprise
• Provide planning, project management and implementation leadership, identifying opportunities for automation, cost savings, and service quality improvement
• Work with peers in and outside IT to drive automation and reduce maintenance costs
• Demonstrate regular disaster recovery preparedness through seamless internal failovers for key infrastructure at least yearly
• Identify and work with peers to remediate single points of failure
• In partnership with peers, build a heavily automated and world class monitoring and incident response program
• Establish KPIs to measure effectiveness of operations and infrastructure
It would be music to our ears if you also had:
• Proven experience in Enterprise Architecture, including the use of Enterprise Architecture frameworks
• Ability to learn and plan paths to new technology
• Practical knowledge of software engineering best practices. Prior ''hands-on'' technical experience is required
• Technical experience with one or more of the following: Akka, AngularJS, Ansible, Bootstrap, Camel, Cassandra, Cloud Foundry, Consul, Filebeat, Gatling, Github, Hazelcast, HTML5, Java, Jenkins, Jmeter, Kibana, Logstash, Model-View-Controller patterns, Nagios, Nexus, node.js, NPM Registry, Orient DB, Pentaho DI, Postgres, Qubole, RabbitMQ, REST Web Services, Ruby, Scala, Selenium, Sonar, Spring Framework, SQL Server, Tableau, XML, Zapi, Zephyr
• Multiple platform development experience (e.g. Cloud, Containers)
• Working knowledge of Cloud Platforms and Architectures (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP, Redshift)
• Recent experience with DevOps
• Displayed understanding of object-oriented analysis and design techniques
• Familiarity with at least one major product management framework
• Agile development experience
Special Requirements/Preferences:
• Established track record in world-class infrastructure leadership using DevOps principals
• Deep practical experience with modern DevOps frameworks, toolsets and processes.
World-class expertise in infrastructure architecture, service automation and management
• Deep experience and comfort leading both on premises and cloud based infrastructure teams
• Experience of evolving infrastructure methodologies from traditional infrastructure to DevOps/automation focused
• Knowledge and experience with relevant security related frameworks, tools and techniques including identity management, incident detection, response and mitigation
• Prior experience managing a annual budget
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and comfort level in public presentation settings
• Comfort with and competence in effectively communicating with 'C' level executives
• A demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity and highly complex, evolving environments
• The ability to internalize the principle that we ''Operate like a start-up but manage like a mature enterprise''
Education
/Experience Required:
• 10-15 years of increasingly responsibility in development leadership roles
• Bachelor's Degree
