Job Description:
We currently have a fantastic opportunity to join our Shared Services Legal Team as an Emerging Talent Associate.
Job Title: Emerging Talent Associate, Legal - Rights Enforcement
A little bit about our team:
• The Legal Department's Rights Enforcement Team is responsible for enforcing WMG's rights in the recorded music catalog repertoire and certain trademarks controlled by its U.S. record labels and partners, managing litigations involving WMG's intellectual property rights in conjunction with WMG's corporate litigation in-house counsel, and developing and implementing strategies for identifying third parties who may be infringing upon WMG's intellectual property rights.
• Members of the Team work closely with employees in the Business Affairs, Finance, Production, Operations, New Media, and Marketing departments of each label client to fulfill the above-referenced responsibilities for the intellectual property controlled by and recordings those labels release.

Here you'll get to:
• Assist in fact and evidence gathering for possible infringements upon WMG's intellectual property rights;
• Assist in sending DMCA take-down notices and other correspondence necessary for pursuing infringements upon WMG's intellectual property rights;
• Assist the Team in implementing effective strategies for pursuing potential third party infringers; and
• You'll have the opportunity to work on unique projects related to the Team's role and responsibilities.
Rockstar candidates will meet the following requirements:
• You attend an ABA accredited Law School;
• You have a combined passion for music and law;
• You have excellent verbal and written skills;
• You have strong computer skills, including strong data entry skills (with an emphasis on accuracy) and strong proficiency using Microsoft Office's Excel, Word and PowerPoint applications; and
• The ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
It would be music to our ears if you also had:
• Completed one or more courses in the areas of copyright, trademark, and/or intellectual property; and
• An interest in or prior experience working in the music industry.
