Job Description:
Sr. Director, Financial Reporting
This position will be responsible for overseeing the global consolidation, financial and external reporting process of Warner Music Group Corp. reporting to the VP, Assistant Controller.
Detailed Job Description/Responsibilities:
• Oversee the monthly and quarterly financial and external reporting and consolidation process for Warner Music Group Corp. utilizing Hyperion Financial Management (HFM)
• Responsible for monthly and quarterly reporting of transactions, pre-close and accounting close meetings as well as coordination of all quarterly financial reporting audit committee deliverables including the Form 10-Q and earnings press release
• Review closing journal entries, topside accruals, consolidations and intercompany reconciliations for both actual and forecast submissions
• Manage all finance affiliate and Shared Service relationships including communication of calendar / key dates for close
• Support and review bookkeeping for all unique/one-time transactions such as debt activity, acquisitions, and disposition
• Review cash flow, below the line and balance sheet analysis on a quarterly/monthly basis
• Assist in the review of actuals submissions and supporting schedules used by the External Reporting department in preparation of the WMG 10-Q and 10-K
• Identify and implement process improvements as part of continuous improvement initiatives including the implementation of a new external reporting tool
• Undertake and manage special projects and other reporting needs as required
• Ensure SOX requirements are met and compliance is maintained at all times
• Assist with quarterly reviews and annual audits conducted by external auditors
• Direct supervision of two employees
Required Competencies/Skills:
• Strong knowledge of GAAP/SEC accounting and reporting.
• Superior leadership and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Demonstrates problem solving, decision making, and continuous process improvement skills.
• Demonstrates partnering, influencing, and communication skills up and down the organizational structure to convey key elements in a concise and positive manner.
• Ability to work proactively, collaboratively and as a strategic partner in a team environment.
Experience Required:
• CPA license is required
• Public accounting experience a plus
• Minimum of 10 years of accounting experience
• Previous consolidations and financial reporting experience required
• Large multi-national experience a plus
• Supervisory experience preferred
