Job Description:
Department Description:
The Finance Department will be responsible for managing all the center's accounting and cash management functions. As a critical component of the Finance department, the Accounting Operations Group will provide accounting services and support to WMG's US record labels and businesses.
High Level Job Description:
The Senior Accountant for Accounting Operations & Reporting is responsible for the monthly close process and all aspects of Label accounting, including various cost analyses, intracompany balancing, inventory and returns reserve analyses and tax reporting. They will also assist with internal audits, maintaining appropriate documentation to ensure SOX compliance, and will assist in identifying process improvements for the purposes of increasing efficiency of accounting and finance procedures.
Detailed Job Description/ Responsibilities:
• Prepare various cost analyses, intracompany balancing, inventory and returns reserve analyses, tax reporting and compliance, as well as prepare journal entries, supplemental schedules, and account reconciliations
• Compile monthly financial statements for purpose of presenting to Label Finance, reconcile SAP financials to Hyperion financials, and submit supplemental schedules to WMG Corporate
• Assist with internal audits, maintain appropriate documentation to ensure SOX compliance, as well as assist with quarterly, interim, and year-end external audit requests
• Assist in identifying process improvements for purposes of increasing efficiency of accounting and finance procedures
• Perform other ad-hoc tasks and special projects as required by management and/or the Division
• Liaise with Label Finance Personnel, maintain strong relationships with finance personnel of domestic and international affiliates/business units as well as other divisions within WMG
Required Competencies/Skills:
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, with preferred experience in SAP and Hyperion
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills to interact with Label Finance, Corporate Finance, and other internal/external parties
• Detail oriented and able to work under pressure and tight deadlines
• Possess strong analytical skills in reviewing accounting transactions
• Knowledge of Oracle, Hyperion/HFM, SAP, and Access database a plus
Education
Required/Preferred:
• BA/BS in Accounting/Finance, CPA a plus
• 3 years of experience with a Big 4 CPA firm in auditing and/or entertainment industry experience
