The Corporate Finance Department at WMG is responsible for overseeing all of the financial operations of the Company in partnership with the labels and individual companies within WMG. The department provides financial reporting, accounting, planning, budgeting, and financial compliance and auditing for the Company.
Your Role
As a Senior Financial Analyst on the Corporate Services FP&A team, you will provide critical financial support to various corporate departments. You will be the engine behind the monthly close and forecasting cycles, ensuring accuracy in our financial reporting and clarity in our future projections. This role offers a unique opportunity to dive deep into the financial operations of a global music leader.
Here You'll Get To:
• Perform key monthly close activities, including preparing journal entries, accruals, and re-class entries.
• Prepare comprehensive month-end close packages, featuring analysis of material spend and variances to budget and forecast.
• Develop and manage monthly forecast packages and reporting for corporate departments.
• Support corporate department teams with day-to-day financial operations, including invoice submissions, coding, and payment status tracking.
• Manage vendor-related tasks such as vendor setup and purchase order (PO) support.
• Participate in long-term (LT) planning and the development of financial models to facilitate key business decisions.
• Track project costs and cash outflows for various corporate initiatives and ensure performance aligns with expectations.
• Assist in the preparation of data used for board reporting and external reporting packages.
• Evaluate and implement opportunities to streamline existing processes and improve financial reporting accuracy.
• Perform various ad-hoc reporting and analysis as requested by senior management.
About You:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business.
• Minimum of 2 to 4 years of relevant experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial data clearly.
• Ability to meet deadlines consistently and effectively while managing multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong commitment to following up on open action items and assignments.
We'd Love It If You Also Had:
• CPA certification or Big 4 accounting experience.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with SAP, Hyperion, or other large ERP systems.
