Senior Director, Contract Administration
Job Description:
We currently have a fantastic opportunity to join our innovative and highly sought-after
team.
Here you'll get to:
Be responsible for tracking all options, term end dates, and ancillary rights. Additionally, responsible for reviewing agreements for rights and restrictions. You'll be the primary business affairs inquiries contact for various departments and be in charge of maintaining the rights database.
Rockstar candidates will be able to:
• Option tracking for the roster, including preparing monthly upcoming option detail memos, following up and obtaining decisions from executives prior to deadlines, preparing decision memos for executive signatures, and drafting option letter notices.
• Maintain various reports and spreadsheets for distribution to executives, including roster, 360 rights/details, J/V label deal summary, remaining artist committed product status, marketing obligations for each artist, and consultant agreements summary.
• Enter data briefs of recording and 360 right agreements into Contraxx system.
• Track expiration dates of distribution rights, including advising executives of upcoming expirations. Upon expiration, coordinating loss of rights procedures with production department.
• Track all J/V label deal payments and minimum submission requirements.
• Licensing department liaison – research rights and restrictions for potential master recording and video licenses.
• Royalty department liaison – research and confirm royalty rates for all releases.
• Production department liaison – confirm rights (territory and any distribution restrictions) for all audio and video releases.
• Corporate legal liaison – confirm ownership and supply documentation for masters involved in potential litigation.
• BA contact for various departments to clarify terms and rights.
• Review and approve copyright information for editorial department.
• Draft gratis licenses for use of masters and artwork.
• Back up for side artist clearance issues and preparing video production agreements.
What we're looking for:
• 3-5 years contract administration experience
• Detail oriented
• Highly organized
• Independent worker, within a team-oriented environment
• Strong relationship skills
• BA degree
