Product Manager/Director, Marketing - Big Beat Job Description:
We currently have a fantastic opportunity to join our innovative and highly sought-after team.
A little bit about our team:
We are an electronic / dance music focused label under the Atlantic umbrella based in New York City. We pride ourselves on being a tightknit team who have strong relationships with one another to not only achieve our goals, but to go above and beyond for the artists on our roster. This role will have a direct impact on all of the members of our team because marketing the artists and working on their repertoire directly impacts the culture of our division and each member of the staff touches the project in specific ways.

This employee will have the opportunity to market both established electronic artists and break new artists in the marketplace. They will be the point person in the Big Beat/Atlantic Records building for their assigned roster and work with the A&R's and the rest of the departments to take the music to the marketplace in new and cutting edge ways.

-You will get to develop strong relationships with both Big Beat and Atlantic staff
Rockstar candidates will get to/be:
• Work with artist managers and A&R teams to create comprehensive global marketing plans and project timelines
• Compile and follow through on asset delivery schedules, team/department deliverables, and manage project requirements across all departments
• Drive creative process for the creation of commercial assets and marketing tools such as: album & single packshots, photo shoots, music videos, social media content, general video content, and more
• Responsible for communicating project needs between both internal departments and external partners
• Monitor day-to-day artist & label activities to ensure work is progressing as planned
• Compile and distribute comprehensive marketing updates to entire company & external artist teams on a regular basis while projects are active
• Manage marketing budgets across roster and ensure departments are staying in budget following through on payment to third party vendors
• Work alongside team to troubleshoot problem areas and anticipate environmental risks and adjust plans accordingly
• Manage Big Beat's DJ promo system, including re-evaluating artists in promo list, creating new lists as needed, and working with wider team to continue growing & cultivating the list overall.
• Schedule and run marketing meetings and conference calls with core teams, full label-wide teams, and artist managers as needed
• Manage marketing assistant, delegate relevant tasks, and create developmental plan to help assistant learn the skills of a product manager
It would be music to our ears if you also had:
-knowledge of electronic music and the sub-genres within the dance genre
-knowledge of current electronic artists overall
-knowledge of how digital marketing works
-previous marketing experience marketing music and/or a product in general
-knowledge of each decade of popular music
-knowledge of electronic music publications, blogs, websites, festivals, booking agents and management companies
-passion for technology and technology as it applies to music
-passion for electronic music
