Manager, Technical Accounting & Reporting
Job Description:
Job Title: Manager, Technical Accounting & Reporting
A little bit about our team:
Responsible for supporting technical accounting related matters, including implementation of new accounting standards, and WMG's global accounting policies
Here you'll get to:
• Support the development and maintenance of the WMG global accounting policies across all segments
• Collaborate with segments to ensure compliance with accounting policies and assist in resolving questions
• Monitor standard setter activity and analyze the impact of new developments in accounting standards
• Identify and resolve technical accounting matters, with a specific focus on revenue recognition, acquisitions, consolidations, and investments
• Prepare and review technical accounting memorandums documenting conclusions and referencing the appropriate accounting literature
• Collaborate with external reporting groups to ensure technical accounting and policy matters are accurately reported and disclosed in the WMG quarterly financial statements (e.g. Form 10-K, Form 10-Q)
• Prepare Form 10-k and Form 10-Q footnotes and disclosures
• Develop training, education, and CPE delivery for Corporate Finance Group
• Prepare monthly analysis of below the line items with a specific focus on interest expense, debt related reporting and other income / expense.
It would be music to our ears if you also had:
• Minimum of 5 years professional experience in accounting and reporting with big four audit experience
• Media or entertainment experience a plus
• Large multi-national experience a plus
• Strong communication, organization, interpersonal and analytical/problem solving skills
Education
• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Accounting
• Certified Public Accountant or equivalent required
