Analyst, Strategic Development
Job Description:
Team Overview:
The Strategic Development team is responsible for sourcing and developing innovative, strategic initiatives that bolster and transform WMG's business to reflect new opportunities in the 21st century digital media environment. In doing so, the team aims to help futureproof WMG's core music business, diversify its asset portfolio, and create new areas of development for WMG's artists and brands. Given its broad strategic objectives, the Strategic Development team works closely with teams across WMG's various businesses, including Atlantic Records, Warner Records, WEA, ADA, and Warner Chappell.
Role Overview:
You will report to the Director, Strategic Development at WMG and will be responsible for researching new opportunities and partners, tracking and administering projects, and reporting results to partners and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate will become involved in project management, help build new partnerships, and support executive-level presentations
Here you'll get to:
• Research and implement experimental pilots to test new areas of opportunity for WMG
• Track pilot performance and administer deal structures with external business partners
• Build financial models to analyze and benchmark performance of partnerships and pilots
• Create data-driven visualizations and materials to communicate results and findings
• Help scale successful pilots into new business initiatives for WMG
• Collaborate with partners at WEA and WMG's labels (i.e., Atlantic, Warner Records) to identify opportunities for scaling and synergy across WMG's recorded music business
Preferred Expertise:
• Excellent analytical ability, written communication, and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and process/infrastructure management ability
• Established record in managing multiple and competing priorities, with ability to meet deadlines and work well in a fast-paced environment
• Quantitative aptitude, with financial/statistical modeling skills preferred
• Ability to synthesize large volumes of research and data to extract key insights and takeaways
• Fluency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree from top university
• 1-2 years of relevant work experience
• Experience in project management, consulting, or financial services preferred
