JOB DESCRIPTION
• Responsibility for accurately and timely execution of Japan payroll by working closely with local payroll vendor in timely manner, with a high level of accuracy
• Partner with external vendors to ensure payroll deliverables are compliant, accurate and on time
• Prepare payroll accrual and monthly payroll reconciliations reports
• Main point of contact for day to day payroll operations, employee payroll related issues, benefits and questions concerning the payroll tools and processes as well as issues relating to local authorities
• Prepare and file relevant reports to tax authorities, social security and pension funds for supported territories
• Management of data and documents as well as working closely with the Manager APAC Payroll Services as well as local HR Team
• Work closely with Legal, Finance, HR teams and the payroll vendor on any payroll related reporting
• Recommending process enhancements and continuous improvement to the team
• Compiling statistics and reports on a regular basis, ad hoc requests as well as Year-end reporting
JOB REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum of 5 Years work experience of execution and coordination of Japan payroll, finance or travel and expense, preferably within similar business
• Solid knowledge of regulations and statutory requirements related to salaries, taxes, benefits, and other payroll related matters required
• Process end to end pay runs for salaried and hourly employees
• Work collaboratively with respective stakeholders and be a focal point for client specific issues
• Communicate in a professional manner and constantly strive for providing excellent customer service with the ability to communicate across all levels both internally and externally
• Must have effective verbal and written communication skills – including ability to speak and write English, and Japanese in a professional environment
• Experience in dealing with external payroll vendor and Business Partners
• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities with a sense of urgency, with attention to detail
• Strong problem-solving skills, collaboration a nd customer service skills
• Maintain confidential information
• Team player with ability to build relationships
