The Job
Warner Bros. Consumer Products Inc. seeks a Senior Manager, Franchise Management & Marketing for the Franchise Mgmt & Marketing department.The Sr. Manager is a member of the Franchise Management & Marketing team, responsible for supporting WBCP's Wizarding World franchise (Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts). This team is responsible for the global management of the brand within Consumer Products.
The Senior Manager is responsible for assisting in the development of the Global Franchise Plan for the Core Wizarding World CP business and leading the development and execution of marketing programs that drive brand awareness and relevancy. This position works in close partnership and acts as a key day-to day liaison with multiple stakeholders, including but not limited to internal WBCP teams (Category, Sales, Creative/Product Development, Legal and international colleagues, etc.) WB divisions and key 3rd parties to drive strategic initiatives and facilitate the day-to-day management of the franchise for Consumer Products.
The Daily
Assists in the development and communication of the annual strategic Global Franchise Plans
Leads the development and execution of Franchise Marketing Plans and brand guidelines
Identifies and brainstorms unique ideas and executable programs to drive innovative franchise and marketing plans.
Works to develop cohesive and synergistic plans across all disciplines within WBCP (Retail, Sales, Creative, Product Development, etc.)
Drives the following activities for the Wizarding World core business:
Oversees day-to-day management of the Wizarding World core business.
Ensures that all franchise plans and marketing activations are designed and implemented to meet specific measurable goals (short term and long term).
Coordinates with all WBCP departments to develop cohesive initiatives, including but not limited to promotional activities, trade and/or consumer promotions, advertising and other activities.
Works with Category teams to identify incremental business opportunities and to increase sell-in and sell-thru of licensed products.
Works with Sales & Retail Business Development team to ensure brand placement and presence at retail is maximized.
Partners with international offices to drive regional implementation of strategies and marketing activations.
Delivers all plans and tools worldwide and in a timely basis – including franchise pitch decks, marketing materials, creative briefs, trade show materials, sizzles, etc.
Works collaboratively with category, creative and sales to determine creative strategy for style guides as well as ensuring necessary third party approvals for all Style Guides and product artwork as needed
Participates in licensee meetings, when appropriate.
Partners with Category to support global licensees and develops best practice strategies to support global and local partners in all categories.
Manages annual budget and quarterly financial reporting on Wizarding World core franchise expenditures.
Builds and maintains relationship with applicable colleagues in sister divisions: HPGFD, WBIE, WHE, Theatrical, etc. to establish a reliable and timely flow of information and materials related to assigned properties.
Creates licensee and staff messaging as needed to communicate relevant brand updates in a timely manner.
Aggregates and communicates key performance STATs
Works with Franchise Manager to facilitate smooth day-to-day marketing submission approvals
Other projects and duties may be assigned dependent on business development and needs.
The Essentials
Minimum 5-7 years' experience in related field required.
Brand and/or Franchise management experience required.
Entertainment or licensed consumer products experience is strongly preferred.
Bachelor's degree with coursework in business/marketing strongly preferred.
Deep knowledge of the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts stories
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and presentation software programs required.
Effective and proven management and interpersonal skills are critical.
Must have sound understanding of strategy development, marketing principles and brand management.
Knowledge of digital platforms and media marketing tools
Must have a clear understanding of the dynamics and needs of licensing.
Must have effective communication and presentation skills.
Must be well organized with effective and proven planning and follow-through skills.
