SUMMARY OF POSITION
Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution (WBDTD) is one of the leading distributors of entertainment programming to the domestic television marketplace, including local television stations and pay television, cable and broadcast networks. WBDTD distributes feature films such as Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, Rock of Ages and The Dark Knight Rises; primetime series including The Mentalist, Vampire Diaries and Supernatural; primetime sitcoms including The Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men and The Middle; and first-run syndicated shows including The Ellen DeGeneres Show, TMZ and The People's Court.
WBDTD is seeking an Executive Director, Affiliate Marketing to work with the Station Relations team. The ideal candidate will handle affiliate marketing and promotion for WBDTD off-network product and other product as assigned. Effectively communicate marketing and promotion strategy for program content and implement that strategy with local television station clients to enhance show performance in each market.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Be the creative lead for affiliate stations, maintaining brand identity and ensuring adherence to sales and program marketing strategy. Create affiliate marketing plans and execute division strategy on a local level.
Maintain a frequent dialogue and develop strong relationships with stations while directing and servicing the distribution of advertising and sales materials, program listings, show synopses, satellite feeds, custom promo requests, talent visits, digital strategy including social media messaging and web assets.
Conceptualize and help execute specific marketing projects including, promotional campaigns, contesting and publicity to increase ratings. Work with VP, Marketing to create and execute national and local promotions.
Evaluate individual market research and engage in discussion regarding daily ratings performance, sweep period plans, promotion frequency, programming/scheduling issues, etc. Monitor promo tracking and look for ways to increase on-air exposure of promos in targeted time periods. Encourage tune-in both on and off-air.
Liaison with other Warner Bros. divisions on creative tools for affiliates. Work with Programming, executive producers, talent, publicists, digital teams, etc. on each show assigned. Coordinate with internal staff to arrange set visits and station talent visits when warranted.
Provide Co-op/Media Support with market intelligence, leveraging opportunities with affiliates.
Coordinate affiliate details of station summit, including station selection, event planning, cost containment and explores trade and sponsorship opportunities. Collaborate with internal staff to develop priorities and presentations.
Perform other job related duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in related field strongly preferred.
Experienced with Nielsen ratings analysis.
Understanding of multiple technical platforms including MAC, broadcast ops required.
Excellent communication skills with talent, production, affiliates, WB.
Knowledge of marketplace competitors.
Excellent problem solver.
Ability to work in a matrix environment with a variety of stakeholders.
Ability to write short form promos and well-conceived station communications.
Minimum 7 years experience in television production marketing and/or affiliate marketing in network, syndication or local station.
Must have the ability to pay close attention to details, and understand written or verbal instruction.
Must have the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with all levels of personnel (in person, telephone, written).
Must have the ability to organize and schedule work effectively.
Must have the ability to work well under time constraints in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to work flexible hours, including overtime, if and when necessary.
