This includes global distribution of packaged and digital media, and formats including DVD, Blu-ray, video-on-demand, cable, satellite, online, mobile, electronic sell-through and more.
What part will you play?
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Inc. seeks a Senior Royalty Accountant for the WHE Home Office Accounting department. Responsible for timely and accurate accounting related to the Digital's Royalty businesses. This will encompass accounting across multiple lines of business: Video on Demand, Electronic Sell Through, Games/Apps, for US and International clients
Utilize digital systems to facilitate royalty accounting, POS data analysis, analytics, ad hoc reporting, receivables management and financial close processes. Use of Mediamorph, SAP, BW systems and Excel required.
Responsible for royalty accounting including: revenue recognition, contract and pricing review, client issue resolution, and ad hoc analysis and business decision support related to the Broadband businesses. This includes but is not limited to the following:
Understand of digital's revenue recognition guidelines and apply guidelines to royalty accounting.
Analyze and process statement royalty data in accordance with contract terms. Use applicable WB systems such as Mediamorph, SAP and BW to process and report on the data. (Data analysis requires excel usage for large amounts of data, excel functions: pivots, sorts, formulas, v-loop ups).
Review/validate data against contractual terms including validation that payments (rates and splits) tie to contract pricing, promotional rates are documented and approved, rights and avail dates agree with published schedules.
Responsible for by customer and by title revenue.
Assist with business decision support analyses, ad hoc reporting and analytics.
Compile and process monthly Point of Sale revenue accruals.
Track and report on key client information as needed to sr management (POS or royalty data).
Manage various administrative tasks related to royalty processing.
The role will assist with the financial close processes (monthly and quarterly). This includes but is not limited to:
Calculate, prepare and process journal entries and accruals.
Track actuals vs forecast (by client) and assist with variance analysis as needed.
Review financial statements (revenue and cost data).
Research variances (run data reports) as needed, gather supporting documents.
Assist with reconciliations and SOX requirements.
Participate with Audit requests including but not limited to gathering support, copying documents, and preparing analysis and reconciliations as needed. Types of audits include: internal and external audits, participations audits.
Take on additional duties, assist with new projects and help management improve business processes to streamline and/or and eliminate non-value-added tasks.
This would include but not be limited to identifying and help implement process improvement to Mediamorph or other financial systems / processes.
What do we require from you?
BA / BS degree in Accounting or equivalent required.
2-5 years accounting experience required.
Knowledge of Royalty accounting a plus.
SAP, R3, and BW accounting experience preferred.
Must have strong written and verbal skills.
Advance PC skills (Advanced Excel) required.
Ability to multi-task and organize work priorities.
Ability to work well under pressure.
Ability to learn new systems.
Ability to collect relevant facts quickly, provide recommendations, make decisions.
Motivated, organized, self -starter with a hands-on approach.
Flexibility - ability to adapt quickly to new systems and processes.
Well organized, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting shifting deadlines.
