What part will you play?
We are currently seeking a Manager, Accounting for the Enterprise Financial Services (EFS) Home Entertainment General Ledger & Record to Report Accounting department. This individual will lead a team in the execution of the day-to-day accounting activities and processes for EFS supporting Warner Bros. Home Entertainment for Global Games. Specific responsibilities will include:
Ensuring timeliness and accuracy of overall monthly close activities as well as management of Business Process Owner (BPO) activities including but not limited to: journal entries, ensuring proper posting of revenue, sales analysis, financial statements, accrual and deferral schedules, and trial balance review.
Overseeing the monthly/quarterly close reporting deliverables to Corporate Financial Reporting Group, including Business Unit by-title submissions, P&L cause of change explanations, management reports, footnotes, disclosures, government surveys, and supplemental schedules.
Managing the day to day general ledger activities including performing and overseeing the following: regular general ledger account reviews, cash clearing, inter-company and balance sheet account reconciliations.
Developing, coaching, and managing staff into mature financial advisors with a customer service orientation toward the dependent BPO, Corporate, and Business Unit groups with whom there is regular interaction.
Championing process efficiencies and developing procedures and guidelines to help align work prepared offshore with the strategic goals of EFS and the company.
Fostering an effective working relationship between EFS and various departments (i.e. Business Unit Finance, Sales, Financial Reporting, Legal, Tax, Participations).
Overseeing all applicable SOX documentation, compliance and providing audit support to external auditors Ernst & Young during quarterly and year-end audit reviews.
What do we require from you?
Bachelor's or advanced degree in Accounting, CPA/ MBA preferred.
5+ years experience in public or private accounting, with 1-2 years prior management experience strongly preferred.
Strong technical accounting background.
Proficiency in a variety of systems including Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint and high level Excel experience such as familiarity macros, pivot tables, lookup functions); SAP with BW experience preferred.
Ability to design, review and revise various types of reports, schedules, and journal entries to make recommendations to senior management about financial implications.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, as this is a high-visibility role that interacts with various departments, executives, and all levels of personnel across the organization.
Flexibility with hours including overtime if necessary.
