Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden (WBSL) is a purpose built, state-of-the-art film and television studio offering one of the largest facilities in the UK. This 200-acre secure site has a quarter of a million square feet of stage space, back-lot tank, one of the largest heated underwater filming tanks in Europe and a 100 acre back-lot.
WBSL has a collection of thirteen sound stages, some of which are the largest in the UK. The site also has its own on-site Production Rentals division which provides the industry with state-of-the-art lighting equipment, scaffolding and production supplies for stage and location shoots. WB De Lane Lea based in Soho, London, provides state of the art facilities in audio post production for feature films and television.
These facilities make Warner Bros. Entertainment the only Hollywood studio to own and operate a production and post production facility in the U.K.
Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter showcases the authentic sets, special effects and behind-the-scenes secrets of the Harry Potter film series located at the Studios where all eight films were produced.
Primary purpose of position
This senior HR leader will serve as a strategic business partner and people leader for the location with senior management and their teams on employee initiatives, legal compliance, training, recruitment, and capability-building for the future needs of the Warner Bros Studios Leavesden. He/She will act as a partner and trusted advisor to Management, challenging the status quo, influencing strategic solutions, and providing proactive solutions.
Essential job functions
• Lead, oversee, communicate and deliver company and business-driven HR programs (e.g. annual reviews, incentive plans, training, recruitment, payroll, etc.) to management and all employees. Adjust in alignment with business goals and feedback
• Advise and assist as part of the HR team, local management with employee issues and alignment to objectives in order to ensure HR best practices. Develop and ensure flexible solutions in an ever-changing environment
• Ensure accurate interpretation and administration of HR policies, data, and programs. Must remain current with all legal and compliance requirements in the UK and within the Time Warner family. Provide guidance in accordance with WB Legal on employment investigations and disciplinary meetings
• Collaborate with WB Corporate Compensation, Recruitment, OD & Training, Benefits and Payroll to ensure compliance. Responsible for accuracy of position management, payroll, leave administration and benefits programs. Provide systems reporting as needed. Oversee local HR Budget
• Build and maintain respectful, professional relationships in a matrix-reporting environment, working effectively with business leaders, management, peers, and all employees. Attend networking opportunities as possible to maintain relationships with similar business HR professionals and remain current with industry best practices
• Lead and implement positive organizational change. Conduct and assist in job analysis, position descriptions, team expectations and skills inventories. Identify and proactively explore solutions to workplace issues, given Corporate and local business parameters
• Manage the HR team, leading by example, and working in collaboration with the broader HR team for WBSF. Responsible for developing individuals and the team by aligning resources and practices in order to provide strong customer service levels to the organization. Effectively communicate and work with the Burbank HR team for consistency across the organization in both countries as well as WB Corporate HR

Person specification
• Experience in a HR Generalist role required
• Experience in a management role required
• Experience with business transformation, process engineering, and change management
• Proven ability to influence and collaborate with senior level management
• Work experience in a media production environment, entertainment industry company, or attractions business, strongly preferred
• University degree and/or Advanced HR Certification, required
• Strong organizational, detail, and follow-through skills
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and HR Systems, including HRIS and/or Payroll
• Able to manage within a functional matrix structure, effectively communicating to a variety of partners, decision-makers, and other, sometimes conflicting, interested parties
• Familiar with dynamic company structures, with an entrepreneurial spirit
• Able to think outside of the box and suggest innovative solutions for the benefit of the business
• Able to apply common sense to problems and solutions rather than relying on strict procedure
• Customer service, business partner approach to HR as a profession
• Must foster respectful, professional and effective working relationships with coworkers at all levels
• Must be able to communicate effectively, honestly and tactfully, both verbally and in writing. Comfortable with public communications, in front of groups, and through Executive level summaries
• Must be able to work efficiently under time constraints
• Ability to remain objective and calm in challenging or difficult conversations and situations
• Must meet objectives while working independently in an ever-changing, often ambiguous, and fast-paced environment
