Part Time Unpaid Internship
The MBA Intern will support the WarnerMedia Strategy and Corporate Development group. The group's responsibilities span a variety of corporate development and strategy initiatives and projects across WarnerMedia corporate and our divisions (WarnerMedia Entertainment including HBO MAX, HBO, WarnerMedia Entertainment Networks, and Otter; Warner Bros; CNN; Turner Sports), including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic partnerships, internal financial and valuation analyses, ad-hoc market analyses and other special projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Conducting research and analysis to support the team in evaluating potential acquisitions, investments and other strategic growth opportunities (e.g. direct-to-consumer, gaming)
• Drafting of board memos and presentations to senior management as part of transactions and strategic reviews
• Close interaction with WarnerMedia divisions and business units on transactions
• Competitive benchmarking analyses including research and internal data gathering
• Monitoring trends in the media sector including peer performance
REQUIREMENTS:
• Previous employment experience in one or a combination of the following industries: Consulting, Media, Technology, Banking, or Entertainment
• Superior analytical and modeling skills with sound knowledge of corporate finance and accounting
• Excellent organizational and communication skills as the position requires working in large deal teams with several work streams
• Knowledge of and passion for entertainment and media
• Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrable success of working well in teams as interaction and cooperation with many groups and functions across WarnerMedia is essential
• Highly motivated with ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
EDUCATION:
• Must be currently enrolled as a MBA student
• Bachelor's degree required
INTERNSHIP DETAILS:
• 8 to 12-week internship beginning end of September 2019
• Must be able to work approximately 20 hours a week in New York City
• Paid internship
