You Role
The Manager, Fire Services is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a fire department, ensuring efficient emergency response, fire prevention, and safety services. This role involves managing and training staff, coordinating emergency operations, and maintaining equipment and facilities. The manager develops and implements policies and procedures, manages departmental budgets, and seeks funding opportunities to support operations. Additionally, the Fire Services Manager engages with the business units and productions to promote fire safety, ensures compliance with regulations and standards, and coordinates with other emergency services during major incidents. The position requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, a commitment to public safety, and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
Your Role Accountabilities
• Develop and execute strategic solutions to ensure the timely updating of fire policies, rules, regulations, practices, and procedures essential for the effective functioning of the fire department.
• Regularly liaise with the Burbank Fire Captain assigned to the Warner Bros. Lot to ensure a coordinated approach to production requirements and construction issues.
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of a comprehensive Fire Department and liaise with Human Resources and Labor Relations with regard to any staffing, termination, or personnel performance matters
• Perform on-scene management to any Studio Major Emergency, Fire or Natural Disaster as Warner Bros. Fire Department Liaison.
• Liaison with contracted vendors to ensure the proper administration of their duties as delineated by their respective contracts with Warner Bros. Studios.
• Responsible for the negotiation and implementation of external vendor contracts pertaining to Fire Extinguisher Service, Clean Agent and Pre-Action Systems, Kitchen Hood Systems, and Fire Alarm Annual Certification services
• Collaborate with the appropriate municipal and regulatory fire agencies as required.
• Represent the Warner Bros Discovery Fire Department at any meetings pertaining to fire-related matters, both on and off the premises. This includes participation in design, construction, and installation meetings, as well as regulatory inspection meetings.
• Supervise the day-to-day Fire Department operations and liaise with the Human Resources and Labor Relations departments to address any hiring, termination, or employee performance-related issues in conjunction with the Western Regional Director and Vice President.
• Provide oversight and collaborate with the WBD Fire/Security schedulers to ensure all regular and additional fire-related duties are correctly scheduled.
• Oversee the day to day operations of the Fire Department (Scheduling / Training / Apparatus / Supplies).
• Oversee the Fire Prevention program to include but not limited to; inspections, repair, testing, and documentation.
• Thoroughly investigate any complaints regarding the violation of applicable fire and building codes and actively participate in enforcing these codes across all WB Studio Facility operations.
• Actively participate in the oversight of inspections, testing, and maintenance of life safety systems to ensure adherence to prevailing government and industry standards.
• Perform other prevention duties as necessary and required.
• Collaborate with Risk Management/Emergency Services on any evacuation planning, meetings, or events related to the Warner Bros. Studio lot.
Qualifications & Experience
• At minimum of 10 years of firefighting and prevention, including five (5) years career experience at the Fire Lead level or higher.
• Knowledge of the Incident Command Systems and its functions, Federal State and local laws and regulations pertaining to fire suppression and prevention, and safety of personnel.
• The ability to make effective use of personnel, equipment and apparatus in emergency situations, to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing, and to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with all personnel and other business units.
• Knowledge and experience in the design and implementation of fire suppression systems.
• State Board of Fire Service Chief Officer Certificate or equivalent strongly preferred.
• State Board of Fire Services Fire Office and Fire Prevention Officer certifications strongly preferred
• Four (4) year degree in Fire Administration or related discipline, preferred
• Must possess strong organizational and verbal and written communication skills
• Conduct staff briefings; submit log of department activities, provide reports and recommendations to the Studio
• Active member of the Budget Committee; prepare and administer the annual Fire Department budget

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $73,500.00 - $136,500.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
