You will be responsible for undertaking carpentry maintenance, modification, renovating, repair, making and installation of all carpentry work interior and exterior at WBSL. You will be expected to diversify your role such that you will assist with other general maintenance tasks should the need arise. You will primarily be based at the Leavesden site but from time to time you may be required to work off-site.
You will be responsible for coordinating any issues with your manager and auditing work ensuring that the property/premises are maintained to a high standard and to always ensure safe working practices.
Your Role Accountabilities...
• Carry out and execute planned and reactive maintenance tasks in a timely manner.
• Work in coordination with the Lead Carpenter, Maintenance Manager and Facilities Administrator team.
• Keep accurate records including sign off sheets, compliance records and Planon updates which should state information such as: time spent working, description of works performed, and materials used.
• Ensure that the site's assets and ironmongery are looked after in such a way as to maintain continuous operation and legal compliance with local and national regulations.
• React to all emergencies to implement a permanent fix or a temporary safe fix to reduce down-time, working through an escalation process for a quick resolution.
• Undertake general maintenance tasks as well as survey inspected assets which may including areas at height.
• Customer-facing task, therefore, requirement to follow lines of communication to keep all stakeholders knowledgeable.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawing and specifications.
• Audit and review of all stock levels ensuring critical spares and operational spare parts are always kept in stock this includes tools assigned to you.
Qualifications & Experiences...
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Carpentry
• Carpentry Apprenticeship
• Use and maintenance of hand tools and job specific equipment.
• Use and maintenance of site plant equipment such as MEWPS (training provide)
• Preferable but not essential skill set – trained to use trailers and forklifts (training provided)
• Full working knowledge and adherence to H&S standards (training provided)
• Understanding of COSHH regulations
• Must hold a full UK driving license.
Onsite Working - This role is advertised as Onsite, meaning all working hours and days (regardless of shift pattern) will be carried out at the place of work.
