Warner Brothers Animation is seeking a Technical Director for the highly anticipated ''Wings of Fire'' animated adaptation, Executive Produced by Ava DuVernay. This will be a high quality and high complexity TV series looking to achieve cinematic quality in both visual style and storytelling.
The Technical Director is responsible for creating and maintaining software tools, providing front-line support to artists and leads and general troubleshooting of the 3D pipeline in a fast-paced production environment.
This position is currently a remote position with the option of onsite work at a WBA Studio location in the future.
Job Responsibilities:
· Communicate with artists to identify and troubleshoot preproduction challenges.
· Develop and maintain tools for a storyboard and design pipeline, with particular focus on efficient workflow and user interface.
· Create plug-ins for artistic applications including Blender and Maya.
· Document and educate on issue solutions and tools.
· Support existing proprietary and third-party tools.
· Create production management tools in platforms including Shotgun.
Work Experience:
· 2 years previous experience in animation or visual effects preferred.
Education:
· Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related education and experience.
Knowledge/Skill/Software:
· Organized and solves problems independently.
· Excellent communication skills with technical and artistic stakeholders.
· Proficient with Python, object-oriented programming and GUI development.
· Experience with Blender and other artistic software preferred.
· Experience with open-source software development and communities preferred.
· Understanding of CG Animation pipeline.
· Experience with development in different operating systems and web services preferred.
