Department Overview:
Special Event Management serves as the strategic event planning division for Global Marketing and Sales. The Sales Event Management team, within Special Events Management, focuses on events and tradeshows that are designed to provide immersive product updates and education to multiple Sales channels that include Travel Industry, Groups and Conventions, Disney Institute, Disney's Fairytale Weddings and Honeymoons, and Disney Youth Programs, within all domestic Disney Destinations. This internship will focus on planning logistics for Sales Training programs including classroom training and on-site education programs and tours, for third-party Sales clients.

Provide logistical support in the planning, managing, and execution of Sales Training events that promote Disney Destinations through a variety of Sales channels.
Basic Qualifications

• Minimum 3.0 GPA
• Demonstrated computer proficiency within a Windows environment and Microsoft Office applications
• Willingness to learn new software applications
• Demonstrated strong analytical skills
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, as well as telephone etiquette skills
• Demonstrated strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Demonstrated project management skills
• Demonstrated problem solving skills, as well as continuous improvement process skills

Preferred Qualifications
• Prior Participation in the Disney College Program
• Previous experience in event planning, event execution, or training
• Fluency in the Spanish and/or Portuguese language, both verbal and written
Required Education
• Currently enrolled, or graduated within 6 months of the start date of this internship, in an accredited college/university as a junior or higher, majoring in Marketing, Event Planning, Communications, Training/Education or related major

Internship Eligibility:
• Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months of the start date of the internship for which you are applying for OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
• Must possess unrestricted work authorization
• Must provide full work availability
• Must provide own transportation to/from work
• Current Active Disney cast members must meet Professional Internship transfer guidelines (for Walt Disney World cast members this is no more than four points and one reprimand in the last six months; for Disneyland cast members this is six months of consecutive service and a performance record clear of any disciplinary issues (warnings, suspensions, etc.) for at least six months)
Program Length:
The approximate dates of this internship are June 2018 through January 2019. Interns must be fully available for the duration of the internship.
