National Geographic is looking for a dynamic Integrated Storytelling Editor to join their team! This person is responsible for delivering world-class editorial stories and manages relationships with National Geographic Media's primary partners-including but not limited to Disney+, National Geographic Channel, ABC, and the National Geographic Society. The editor is passionate about cultivating extraordinary stories and will develop editorial features and content packages. As part of a group of editors, they commission and edit work from contributors on deadline to fulfill an extensive editorial calendar while bringing a forward-thinking editorial sensibility to our team.
Responsibilities:
• Contribute to story teams that consistently deliver a calendar of high-investment content aligned with the values and mission of National Geographic
• Shape compelling pitches for content packages, including long-form feature articles, special projects, and digital pieces
• Edit and provide direction to external contributors to ensure the delivery of high-quality content on deadline
• Day-to-day management of long-range editorial including special projects
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum of 4 years of professional editorial experience, preferably at a large media organization involving content creation at various levels
• Outstanding editorial judgment and creative thinking
• Superior editing and writing skills for narrative-driven feature content
• Excellent organizational, project planning, presentation, and time management skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal and technical communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• Ability to work collaboratively with a wide variety of people in highly matrixed conditions across numerous companies and with colleagues outside editorial, including communications and marketing, business support, promotion, and development
• Familiarity with digital business models and media products preferred
• Solid knowledge of digital media platforms
Required Education:
• College undergraduate degree

• Specialization in journalism
