Responsibilities:
A day in the life…
Freeform is looking for an intern in the Program Planning and Scheduling Strategy Department. This Department is responsible for all linear and non-linear scheduling, and acquisitions for the network. The team works closely with all departments within Freeform, including Original Programming, Marketing, Ad-Sales, and Publicity. This is a wonderful opportunity for an intern to experience what it is like to program for a top cable network. The intern will work directly with executives in scheduling and strategy to get a well-rounded view of all areas within the department. The intern will take on special projects assigned with the goal of creating an educational and rewarding experience. Help with linear program planning & scheduling activities including:
• Long term program planning
• Monthly program scheduling and listings preparation
• Tracking key competitive information
• Brainstorm and propose themed stunts and lists of episodes that will most appropriately fit a planned stunt
Help with multi-platform program planning including:
• Long term multi-platform planning
• Scheduling and Meta data
Basic Qualifications:
• Strong command of MS Office suite and proficiency in Excel
• Passion and knowledge of present and past television programming and non-linear digital programs
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• Must be self-motivated, energetic, detail oriented team player that thrives in a collaborative environment
• Strong analytical aptitude
• Must be able to work efficiently under time constraints
Required Education
• At the time of application, must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
• Bachelor's degree and relevant experience.
Additional Information:
• The approximate dates of this internship are May/June 2020 through August/September 2020
• Candidate must be available to work part-time hours (approximately 20 hours per week) for the duration of the internship
• At the time of application, must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program
• Must possess unrestricted work authorization
• Housing: Interns must provide their own housing for the duration of their internship program.
• Transportation: Interns must have reliable transportation to get to and from work for the duration of their internship program.
