Executive Assistant (Freeform)
Job Summary:
Part of Walt Disney Television, Freeform connects to audiences and goes beyond entertainment with bold, original programming and immersive social engagement. As Disney's young adult television and streaming network, it channels the power of its audience in its quest for progress through authentic, groundbreaking, original series, fan-favorite movies and tentpole holiday events such as ''31 Nights of Halloween'', ''Kickoff to Christmas'', and ''25 Days of Christmas''.
The Executive Assistant will provide administrative support to two Directors in Original Programming for Freeform.
This position will straddle both Development & Current Series, providing support to both teams. They will be expected to be up-to-date on the happenings of these two high-volume departments within Original Programming. This will involve multi-tasking, clear communication, and proactive prioritization. This position present a unique opportunity to learn the ins and outs of both areas, and will provide a birds' eye view of the scripted creative process. This position will also offer hands-on opportunities to read and effectively communicate opinions on incoming material.
The position requires someone who has a professional communication style, pays close attention to detail, has great organizational skills, and the ability to juggle multiple high priority requests and meet tight deadlines. It requires a high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information, professional decorum to represent and interface with senior executives both inside and outside the Company.
Seeking candidates who are self-starters, able to anticipate needs, juggle high volumes of calls and emails, be flexible with work schedule and meet impromptu demands. Ideal candidates will also possess a basic understanding of story structure and be able to form and articulate opinions on materials, have an awareness and excitement for Freeform's original series and pop culture, and have a curiosity about the scripted production process.
Responsibilities:
• Provide day-to-day administrative support for one Director of Development and one Director of Current Series.
• Perform administrative duties including, but not limited to: screening and routing phone calls, managing schedule, organizing travel arrangements, processing expense reports, meeting set-up, office managements, and ensuring timely and effective communications
• Provide additional office support such as distributing mail, filing, faxing, photocopying, scanning and tracking documents, ordering supplies, and processing purchase orders
• Pull reports and maintain databases
• Interface with various Disney departments and external organizations
• Providing backup to other assistants and contributing to common administrative duties
Basic Qualifications:
• A minimum of 1 year administrative experience supporting executives in a corporate environment preferred
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Approachable style and ability to effectively and professionally interface with high level executives, clients, employees and business associates both internal and external
• Strong organizational and time management skills. Proven experience in multi-tasking and working with multiple people and priorities, while delivering on high quality results and follow through
• Interest in building on existing creative abilities and an awareness of pop culture and trends
• Demonstrates curiosity and a desire to understand the 'big picture' of scripted development and production
• Demonstrated flexibility and professionalism in an environment where change is constant
• Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information in a professional manner
• Self-starter, with ability to work with limited supervision, exercise good judgement, anticipate issues and proactively problem solve
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficient in using PCs and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Keynote and Outlook), as well as SAP
Required Education
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of work experience
