The Vice President, Multicultural Audience Engagement will report to the Studio President and SVP, Human resources, and will oversee development of market-facing strategies to ensure content, marketing and distribution efforts are relevant to a rapidly diversifying and global audience. This person will lead insights-driven strategic plan for diversity and inclusion across the Studio with a focus on people and culture.
Responsibilities:
• Lead creative inclusion work across the Studios through partnering with creative leaders, producers and filmmakers including staffing above-the-line and cultural authenticity
• Lead outreach and market research to identify insights and business opportunities that are compelling and relevant to diverse audiences.
• Consult with leaders to create strategies that drive multicultural consumer acquisition and engagement for the Walt Disney Studios businesses (movies, streaming and theatrical).
• Partner with Human Resources to attract and retain a diverse workforce and deliver learning opportunities that deepen Studio expertise regarding inclusion and equity
• Continually engage and align employees and Inclusion Champions to drive an inclusive culture and scale/own strategies within lines of business
• Communicate and align inclusion strategies across Studio businesses and ensure alignment between TWDC and Studio efforts.
• Create and facilitate forums to discuss common opportunities, challenges and best practices across Studio businesses.
• Collaborate with Studio Communications and Human Resources on an on-going communication strategies to reinforce Studio's DEI story.
• Identify and guide Studio social responsibility and community engagement efforts.
• Build and maintain performance metrics and tools that support Studio objectives including data reporting.
Basic Qualifications:
• Strong understanding of creative processes across platforms and the ability to apply creative sensibility to content, marketing and/or distribution efforts
• Display of mature leadership qualities – compelling communication, consistent judgement, ability to draw out the best from others,
• A track record of positive and productive relationships with a variety of industry experts across dimensions of identity
• Minimum 7 years experience leading content inclusion efforts
• Minimum 5 years experience leading creative teams
• Track record of building and nurturing internal business relationships, focused on outcomes and deliverables
• Understands structural and systemic inclusion and equity work and how to drive long-lasting change and business ownership
• Demonstrates leadership skills with the ability to turn vision into action, motivate others to achieve goals, and follow through on decisions
• Comfortable in a conceptual environment and has demonstrated experience to translate vision into action
• Ability to influence and work through others in a highly matrixed organization
• Strong external / industry network of multicultural resources to leverage in educating team and advancing work
