20th Century Studios is seeking a Supervisor - reporting to the Manager, Creative Affairs - Story.
This is an OPEIU position covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate Notice of Tentative Writing Credits and WGA arbitrations for all film projects for divisions which the Story Department handles.
• Work with production, legal, or creative for the project to ensure material and scripts uploaded to the Story database reflect the most current drafts and approved writing credits.
• Prepare scripts and breaking them into required sections relating to writing credits for arbitrations.
• Create inventory lists and secure all written materials and scripts for projects on completion of production.
• Work with executives and outside entities (such as WGA) so that the agreed upon workflow and process for handling and release of materials and drafts is done in a timely way that follows established practices for secured material.
• Primary contact for the Story Department with creative, legal, and production for questions or requests involving project's material, and scripts when dealing with accuracy of writing credits and acquiring drafts of projects.
• Recording and entering all data related to final drafts of scripts for future reference.
• Responsible for reviewing new material uploaded to Story Department database, making changes or additions that adhere to studio and related guild standards.
• Coordinate and communicate issues with access, process and reports with IT team to improve functionality of database.
• Responsible for updating Story Department database reports for use internally and for WGA. This includes identifying and, where needed, uploading new material and scripts. Create, review, and correct formats (scripts) and title or credit pages to studio and related guild standards and approved writing credits.
• Take lead in review and release for all requests of produced and unproduced material and scripts assuring process follows established practices in a timely and confidential manner.
• Complete and update weekly reports to WGA of writers on active film projects.
Basic Qualifications:
• Two years of experience in production or creative development areas preferred.
• Should be familiar with script formats, production drafts, and WGA formats for title/credit pages and scripts.
• Experience working with databases.
• Experience with Final Draft, Excel, MSWord, and Adobe Acrobat.
• At least some understanding of a studio film's workflow.
• Understanding of WGA practices, a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Ability to work independently.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented is essential.
