Job Summary:
The Walt Disney Studios is comprised of large team of creative professionals who produce and acquire live-action and animated motion pictures, direct-to-video content, musical recordings and live stage plays that tell memorable, life changing stories. Responsibilities:
You will be working in a multi-disciplinary team of engineers on creating the next generation Asset Management platform for The Walt Disney Studios, a mission-critical initiative that touches all aspects of creation, security, transfer, and distribution of digital and physical assets. We expect you to be up to date on the happenings in the JavaScript community. You will participate in overall system design, come up with web-tailored solutions that emphasize reuse and good design patterns.
You will:
• Define, architect and build high-quality software solutions
• Collaborate with other software engineers and cross-functional teams
• Evangelize technologies, solutions, and best practices
• Contribute new ideas to a larger community of high-caliber professionals
• Balance resources, requirements, and complexity
Basic Qualifications:
• BS in Computer Science or related field with 1 years of experience
• Strong knowledge of Data Structures, Distributed Systems, and Computational Complexity
• An expertise in at least one language (Java, Javascript, etc)
• Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Java, C/C , C#, Python, JavaScript, Go, Scala.
• Ability and interest to learn other coding languages as needed.
• Passionate about technology
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Eagerness to learn and grow
• Comfortable with a DevOps culture including Continuous Delivery, deployments in the cloud, fully automated
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus
Required Education
• BS in Computer Science or related field
Additional Information:
We are interested in your approach to solving problems, what's your thought process, and what are your analytical and technical skills. You will be asked questions related to software engineering focused in coding, algorithms, API design (REST), distributed systems, data structures (trees, lists, sets) and runtime analysis (in Big O notation). This includes writing code and illustrating your ideas in a whiteboard. We recommend brushing up on all of these topics before your interview.
