Job Summary:

As a part of Studio Technology, you will be joining a group of passionate, dedicated technologists solving a range of complex problems in innovative ways for the filmmakers responsible for entertaining millions around the world.
Your Role:
You will partner with our Studio research and innovation teams to transform early stage technology into impactful software/hardware products that will be leveraged at the Studio. In addition, you will discover and pilot external technologies that are ready to plug into our Studio workflows. Everything you do is driven by the singular goal of supporting our filmmakers by helping to improve the quality and efficiency of our products and processes.
Responsibilities:
• Work collaboratively with researchers, innovation and tech teams to take early stage technology over the finish line to become an operational product
• Make critical decisions on the feasibility and viability of technology and determine its readiness for adoption
• Ensure products are successfully transitioned to a partner that will make it a priority to support the product and our filmmakers
• Where appropriate, work with industry partners to drive adoption of internal Studio technology by releasing open source software, structuring licensing deals, or directly integrating into their product
• Ensure the product lives well beyond its initial launch by securing funding via internal processes and external partnerships
• Discover and pilot external technologies that could make an immediate impact to pre-production, production, postproduction Studio workflows
• Build trust with studio tech teams, executives, and vendors by delivering quality products that benefit all stakeholders and engaging in an open, honest and transparent manner
• Work with legal teams to ensure products comply with licensing, patent, and data privacy laws
• Work with security teams to ensure products and associated workflows/integrations keep our content and IP safe
• Stay up to date on latest technology and filmmaking trends
Basic Qualifications:
• 8 years of direct film or episodic production or post production technology experience such as Pipeline Supervisor, Digital Workflow Supervisor, Production Solutions Architect or similar
• Hands on experience or first-hand knowledge of production technologies such as Avid media composer, Davinci Resolve, Nuke, Maya, Katana, Houdini and/or other post production or game engine software
• Track record of delivering entertainment related services, workflows or products
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
• Experience across different disciplines in filmmaking is a plus (physical production, post-production, finishing)
• Strong comprehension of the concepts and practices used in film production & visual effects
• Passionate about media and entertainment, technology, and the possibilities the combination opens up for our filmmakers
