Job Summary:
We are seeking an attorney to join the Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Production Music Business Affairs and Legal Counsel team. We are comprised of music attorneys, paralegals and administrators responsible for music-related business and legal affairs for The Walt Disney Studio. Our projects include music-related matters and talent deals in connection with theatrical and direct-to-consumer releases from all of The Walt Disney Studio's various studio stakeholders including Walt Disney Pictures, 20th Century Studios, Searchlight Pictures, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation Studios, Lucasfilm and Marvel Studios, as well as projects and productions for Disney , Hulu, Disney Character Voices International, Walt Disney Theatrical Productions and Marketing.
Responsibilities:
As a member of the Music Business Affairs and Legal Counsel team, you will be responsible, with supervision, for drafting, negotiating, reviewing and performing analysis of a wide variety of music-related agreements for the various stakeholders. You will, also, provide general legal counsel with respect to all manner of music-related issues arising during the course of motion picture development, production and marketing as well as reviewing and advising on music matters for catalog titles in an accurate and timely manner. You will be working in a supportive role while developing legal expertise, judgment and experience in matters relating to music for motion picture development, production and marketing. Specifically, you will review, analyze and summarize pre-existing music agreements to assess and advise as to existing rights and potential risks and issues; you will assist the primary business affairs executives in the negotiation and drafting of complex composer, songwriter, artist and other talent agreements for domestic and international releases including marketing and promotional agreements, with direct responsibility, subject to supervision and review for certain matters.
Basic Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of significant legal experience, of which at least one year includes music industry experience. Experience with a major studio, music publisher or record company reviewing, drafting and negotiating less complex agreements, licenses and other documents for all manner of exploitation is a plus.
• Superior written and oral communication skills, including strong prior drafting abilities and experience presenting to and dealing with senior management and clients
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment
• Ability to evaluate and reconcile issues from the business-unit and enterprise level perspective
• Ability to prioritize and take initiative, maintain attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage and follow through on numerous projects
• Ability to work in an environment with a high degree of confidentiality
• Capable of managing changing priorities and deadline pressure during heavy work periods that may require late hours

Required Education
