Casting Assistant (Feature)

Disney has explored new worlds through magical storytelling since its first completely live-action film, Treasure Island in 1950. Responsibilities:
• Provide daily administrative support for SVP of Feature Casting
• Manage calendar, handle phones, and prepare meeting materials
• Perform general office duties such as filing and copying
• Complete expense reports and keep detailed records
• Coordinate domestic and international travel
• Coordinate all internal meetings
• Track talent and materials from submissions and general meetings
• Check actor availabilities by corresponding with talent representatives
• Assist with creating and updating Master Lists and Project Lists
• Continuously update casting database and troubleshoot any technological issues
• Assist VP with hiring casting teams by liaising with other departments such as Casting Administration, Finance, Production, Legal, and Studio Technology
• Work with Casting Administration to generate deal memos for casting teams
• Communicate with Finance and Accounting to help facilitate the processing of payments (including submitting timecards and invoices)
• Act as a bridge between casting teams and Studio Technology in order to ensure teams are following relevant technology mandates
• Liaise with legal on any relevant issues that arise during the casting process
• Help implement evolving protocols and procedures as well as communicate these to casting teams
• Work with casting teams to ensure they submit necessary documents throughout the casting process
• Help facilitate the internal audition process by assisting with scheduling sessions, running the camera if needed, troubleshooting equipment, and facilitating self-tape appointments
• Create session sheets, status lists, and flyers for internal casting
• Assist with outreach for internal casting, if necessary
Basic Qualifications:
• Ability to successfully coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Exceptional organizational and follow-through skills
• Positive attitude and the ability to be pro-active, resourceful, and flexible
• Strong people skills, including the ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Ability to take initiative and work with limited direction as well as handle highly confidential information
• Detail-oriented, technologically proficient, ability to multi-task, and prioritize work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Familiar with Mac, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, iMovie, Cast It, QWIRE, Google Docs and Sheets is a plus
