Job Summary:
Disney Parks, Experiences & Consumer Products seeks a Director, Organization Development & Learning Strategy to join the Human Resources team. Position Summary:
The Director leads the organization development and learning and development teams, which consult with business leaders and HR partners to develop holistic and integrated organization and talent solutions, incorporating workforce analytics insights, to drive business results. The Director also collaborates with functional counterparts across The Walt Disney Company to identify and implement solutions that address common priorities. This position requires an individual who can act as a senior consultant to the business, build and execute integrated organization and talent solutions, as well as lead and develop a team of highly skilled professionals.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate a combination of strong business acumen and significant expertise in strategy development, organization design, change management, process improvement, and learning solutions.
Responsibilities:
Lead an internal consultancy responsible for providing cross-line of business and/or cross-enterprise projects that involve significant complexity and require deep OD expertise (e.g., Org Design, Change Management) to achieve sustainable organization and employee effectiveness. Focus includes:
• Assessing gaps between 'desired' and 'actual' business performance and contributing factors, to enable the development of relevant, localized business solutions
• Developing processes and tools for strategy development, alignment, communication, measurement and sustainment
• Developing options for organizing work and people through structure, roles, processes, governance practices and culture to optimize business performance
• Designing and implementing change and transition strategies that enable business growth, transition and continued evolution
• Design and implement large scale process improvement initiatives to drive significant value for our Guests and Cast
Serve as a strategic leader and partner to DPECP teams across diverse operational and business support functions. In collaboration with business leaders and HR partners, this position works to implement and continuously improve learning and talent development strategies that support business objectives and promote an environment where employees are able to grow and succeed.
• Consult with HR Business Partners and clients to assess learning needs, client readiness and performance gaps to develop strategies that align to the client's business goals and objectives.
• Partner and effectively integrate with HR functional Centers of Excellence (COEs), including Learning and Talent Solutions to ensure alignment with overall Disney and DPECP priorities
Basic Qualifications:
• 10 years experience in a combination of Strategy Development, Process Improvement, Organization Design, Leadership Development, Learning, Executive Coaching (senior level), Change Management or related disciplines
• 5 years experience in leading and developing staff professionals
• Dynamic leadership capabilities and experience developing high performing individuals to achieve their best potential
• Advanced understanding of OD and workforce research theory and application, with the ability to adapt traditional approaches to meet stakeholder needs
• Ability to think strategically, synthesize complex business/financial data and develop innovative and holistic solutions
• Advanced knowledge of learning and development techniques and strategy
• Proven ability to articulate a succinct and compelling point of view that incorporates business language with relevant examples
• Ability to work in and manage ambiguity – dealing with issues/areas that do not always have a process or a system in place
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects that cut across multiple business units, teams and HR partners from inception through completion
• Highly innovative and creative in approach to accomplish work
• Excellent relationship, interpersonal, and influencing skills with clients and colleagues; Embraces teamwork and shares ideas/methods to improve performance
• Team player who quickly builds trust and collaborative working relationships with business leaders and partners
• Deep understanding of industry standards, best practices, and trends related to talent management
• Demonstrated strong and developed presentation skills with ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization
Required Education
• BA/BS degree in Human Resources, Industrial/Org Psychology, Organization Development, Business Administration or related field
Preferred Education
• MBA / Masters or PhD in in a related field preferred
