VP Music Group is seeking a Royalty Analyst. The successful candidate will contribute to the day-to-day catalog operations within Royalties and will be involved in all aspects of Artist and Mechanical royalties across labels, including recording agreement implementation, coding, delivering accurate and timely royalty statements, clearing of suspense accruals, and pending items, responding to internal and external inquiries on the accounts and special project. Review royalty terms of artist and third-party agreements, create recording agreement summaries as a tool to implement the contractual royalty terms in the royalty system.
Duties include but not limited to:
• Analyze existing royalty system royalty terms and product/track links to the original recording agreements and document the findings.
• Clear suspense accrual and pending calculations.
• Reconcile various third-party liability account balances on the artist ledger, including samples, overrides and other 3rd parties.
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual royalty statements to comply with contractual obligations and to ensure that all costs, artist advances and royalty calculations are correct.
• Analyze disputed contractual language and prepare formal response for Business Affairs, Law and A&R Administration as well as prepare correspondence with respect to inquiries by artists and their representatives.
Required Skills
• You have a bachelor's degree, preferably in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance with (1-3) years of related work experience.
• You have a strong proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook; VLOOKUP, Pivot tables experience a plus.
• A detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills that can handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Able to analyze and review information from several different sources (corporate systems)
• This position requires that the job candidate be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Qualifications
• 1 - 3 years of experience working with data in a related field
• Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
Salary/Benefits
$50,000.00 - 65,000.00 per year
