VP Music Group Inc are seeking a IN-HOUSE Mechanical Royalty Analyst familiar with music industry and music rights and obligations. The Applicant will be primarily responsible for processing mechanical and third-party royalties for physical and digital products. Maintaining and updating our catalogue in the royalty system.
Detailed Job Description/ Responsibilities:
• Create and maintain structures in the royalty system.
• Audit royalty statements and request payments for and royalty participants.
• Maintain an updated record of all the third-party statements and income.
• Ensure third-party income is properly allocated among royalty participants.
• Conduct special projects as needed.
• MCPS Registrations.
• Liaison with other Records labels and Music Companies.
• Customer Service.
This position has deadlines and statement cycle deadlines. It may require the staff member to work extra time to meet deadlines and to have the ability to plan vacation so as not to interfere with deadlines.
Required Competencies/Skills:
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, Adobe PDF editing and the document conversions (Example text files into Excel).
• Previous experience with Royalty Share and Counter Point royalty systems is a plus.
Education Required/Preferred:
• Four-year college degree or equivalent experience preferred
• 3 yrs. royalty accounting experience required.
