This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship
VMI Worldwide is seeking a Development & Distribution intern who can commit to 2-3 days/week at our office in Hollywood. This position will have the opportunity to work with various departments, but the primary focus will be assisting our Productions & Acquisitions team and US Distributions team.
Start Date: beginning of December
Duration: 12 weeks (3 months)
Days Required: 2-3 days per week / 10am - 6pm
This is an in-person internship; Office located on Melrose Ave in Hollywood
Tasks include -
Productions and Acquisitions: script coverage, film tracking, festival tracking, assisting on projects in the pre-production stage
Domestic Distribution: Digital sales submissions for top TVOD partners, creating decks showcasing our latest catalog, metadata for TVOD partners, pulling clips for filmmakers and publicity opportunities
Servicing and Delivery: Assisting with film deliveries to our various TVOD partners, marking cue points throughout the film, working in Adobe Premiere Pro, updating Airtable with film info, asset management
VMI is looking for dedicated candidates with strong communication skills, both verbally and written, that can work efficiently under tight deadlines with the ability to quickly switch between tasks. This is an excellent opportunity to learn the process of independent film production and distribution in a busy, fast-paced work environment. The day to day differs and all interns will have the opportunity to work alongside all our company departments including Delivery, US Distribution, Foreign Sales, and more.
We are looking for someone who can commit to an in-person, part-time internship for 12 weeks. The internship will count for school credit for student interns. VMI will be more than happy to provide a letter of recommendation at the end of your internship.
Previous experience in writing script coverage (ideal, but not required), samples may be requested from candidates moving on to the interview phase. Any experience working on film sets, festivals, marketing, and/or event planning is a plus but not necessary.
