This is a Full Time Job
Visit Films is seeking a full time Sales & Marketing Coordinator to support our team in the worldwide sales, marketing and distribution of feature films and documentaries to distribution partners around the world.
Main duties for the position include:
• Assisting the sales team on internal tasks
• Interacting with domestic and international clients
• Occasionally pitching titles to our digital and territory partners to increase revenue
• Film market preparation and research
• Preparing film rights licensing information and updating the client and rights databases
• Preparing newsletters, updating marketing elements and assisting in the creation of marketing materials including press releases.
The right candidate will be able to work with the director of sales and the company president to optimize sales strategies and assist with the needs of territorial clients throughout the world for film licensing in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
Additionally, (virtual) office management and basic admin work may be part of the daily tasks including ordering supplies, filing, and other general office / administrative duties.
This position is virtual at the moment but will require in person travel to film festivals and markets. The ideal candidate would be located in LA, to support our increased presence there with a potential move to in person office.
This is a job for someone who wants to learn every aspect of sales and distribution. This is not a creative film job.
Main Responsibilities:
• Updating and maintaining client database, creating target lists of clients, prospecting new clients.
• Preparing availability reports for international and domestic distributors/broadcasters.
• Updating and maintaining the rights management database and sales contract database.
• Drafting basic contracts and deal memos.
• Collecting royalty statements and logging payments in our digital system.
• Assisting the sales team with the company's participation in various films festivals and markets including - coordinating travel, schedules, accommodation, organization of booth, event preparation, product listing, coordinating events at select major film festivals.
• Assistance with digital film placement and distribution across the world.
• Pitching titles to clients and working with the sales team to close deals with international clients.
• Creating marketing materials with third parties for film festivals and markets.
• Updating existing marketing elements and creating mailings and other promotional materials.
Experience and Skills:
• Bachelor's Degree required. Work experience in a fast paced environment.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office/Google Workspace products including Excel and Word and database software (Pipeliner CRM / FilmTrack preferred but not required).
• Ability to quickly become familiar with new software and emerging platforms/apps.
• Experience with Adobe Suite, Mailchimp (email marketing), concepts of technical film delivery preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in the film industry (sales/distribution or production), ability and enthusiasm to learn about the intricacies of the film sales business and its environment (should not be afraid of numbers and legal language).
• Strong communication and organizational skills with a specific focus on attention to detail and organization.
• Comfortable working with people who are traveling internationally and in various time zones.
• Ability to prioritize and adapt to the demands of the job, meeting strict deadlines, problem-solving skills, remaining flexible, calm and focused while multitasking in high pressure situations.
• Experience with/interest in independent film strongly preferred. Sales experience (in any industry) also helpful.
• Enthusiastic and personable, ability to speak to clients with comfort and ease.
• General intelligence and problem solving skills.
• Fluency in at least one foreign language helpful.
• A strong love of international travel and social environments.
• A born seller and hustler. Ambitious and self-directed.
Pay - Entry level indie film salary/position.
Location - Virtual for now. Main supervisor is in Brooklyn. In person in LA in the future.
