Visit Films/Monument Releasing is seeking a Full-Time Festivals Coordinator and/or Manager
This is a rare opportunity to be employed as a festival and non-theatrical programmer at an indie film sales and distribution company. Your main role will be to book the Visit Films/Monument Releasing current and library catalog of feature films and documentaries in festivals, theatrical and non-theatrical venues globally. The company has a library of more than 250+ titles including films from A-list festivals such as Cannes, Berlin, Sundance, Toronto and SXSW. The list of directors includes some of the most exciting names in American and world cinema. Additional duties involve pitching/confirming films in festivals, negotiating booking terms and invoicing for screening fees, coordinating the print traffic of DCP, Pro-res and Blu-rays to and from festivals and exhibition venues around the world, completing administrative tasks regarding film festival preparation and updating the client and film festival database. The right candidate will be able to work remotely with the company President and a festival assistant to optimize festival bookings and coordinate the needs of various festival, non-theatrical and theatrical programming throughout the world. Highlights of the job include talking about cinema, travel and ''selling'' films to our clients. The average tenure of previous employees in this position is close to 7 years as it allows for meaningful work, deep relationships and autonomy.
Main Responsibilities:
Conducting extensive outreach and cultivating long-lasting relationships with festivals, theatrical, non-theatrical venues globally.
Developing and executing festival, educational and non-theatrical strategy in collaboration with filmmakers.
Negotiating booking terms and agreements, and invoicing for screening fees, material charges, prize revenue, etc.
Coordinating logistics for each film's festival journey, including print traffic of screening copies, providing supporting materials to partners, connecting press requests, etc.
Traveling as necessary to film festivals and major markets to meet with programmers and clients.
Updating and maintaining client database, creating target lists of festivals and programmers, prospecting new clients.
Cross-referencing availability reports for festival title reachout.
Facilitating communication regarding travel arrangements, press opportunities, etc. between festival and film team
Custom research and reporting into various film festivals to create target lists by location and thematic concept
Researching non-theatrical venues/showcases such as cinematheques, museums, film societies, universities, etc and adding to a database.
Experience and Skills:
• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel and Word and database software. Ability to quickly become familiar with new software and emerging platforms/apps.
• CRM and/or database management. The company uses Pipeliner and FilmTrack.
• Comfortable dealing with shipping and print traffic and a familiarity or eagerness to learn about the technical side of film exhibition
• Demonstrated experience in the film industry (exhibition/festivals, sales/distribution, production, editing, etc.), ability and enthusiasm to learn about the intricacies of the film sales business and its environment.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with a specific focus on / attention to detail.
• Comfortable working with people who are traveling internationally and in various time zones.
• Ability to prioritize and adapt to the demands of the job, meeting strict deadlines, problem-solving skills, remaining flexible, calm and focused while multitasking in high pressure situations.
• Experience with/interest in independent film strongly preferred. Sales experience (in any industry) also helpful.
• Enthusiastic and personable, ability to speak to clients with comfort and ease.
• Ability to liaise with other departments of the company and assist as needed during markets and domestic film releases
• Management experience of other employees or colleagues helpful.

• Knowledge of additional languages is a plus, but not essential
