Supervises:
The Social Media, Marketing, Communications Coordinator is responsible for coordination and execution of all social media strategies, email marketing/communications, event promotion, website content management, and will identify cross-market opportunities. They will develop a marketing strategy for the Vidiots Foundation to promote a membership drive.
Our ideal candidate will increase our social media presence with communication and interaction primarily for our active Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts; convert followers into members of the foundation. The ideal candidate is someone that is extremely organized, very proactive, independent and reliable to meet deadlines consistently and in a timely manner with minimal supervision. Must track metrics and monitor relevant online conversations. Our SMC will create, launch, optimize, manage, and grow our organizational presence across various social media channels including heavy marketing with Twitter, Vine, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Instagram. Candidate will also create weekly mass email via constant contact promoting upcoming events and membership campaigns using copy and images from staff.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Conceive, maintain and implement communications plan that is shared with the entire staff
• Ensure that the organizational website is consistently updated and accurate
• Create weekly mass emails and email marketing campaigns
• Maintain and coordinate communications about the Vidiots Foundation and its programs and screenings using methods such as list serves, emails, email newsletters via constant contact, targeted lists, blogs, social network sites
• Management of Vidiots Foundation e-communications and social networking sites, such as but not limited to Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter, Periscope, YouTube, Instagram, Flickr, WordPress and Constant Contact.
• Track and record data metrics for Vidiots brand for social networking, blog, and website analytics, Google alerts including all media coverage
• Coordinate and track the distribution of printed marketing materials with the guidance of the Vidiots membership manager.
• Design digital assets for events, programs, and initiatives undertaken by the organization. These design assets will be overseen by our brand manager for the first 90 days.
• Maintain and manage Communications & Social Media Calendars
• Use metrics and ticket sales to evaluate effectiveness of marketing and social media campaigns and report weekly stats to staff
• Oversee, implement and track promotional offers
• Work with select staff to strategize campaigns, partnerships, activities, and content to drive web traffic and social networking interactions
• Ensure that all Vidiots events, activities, and programs are documented via still/digital photography and video and that documentation is shared via press and social networking outlets in a timely manner using volunteers.
Qualifications:
• Must have experience managing professional online communities and social media platforms.
• Experience creating dialogue across multiple communications platforms
• Strong knowledge and skill using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word), Google Apps (Gmail, Google Drive, etc.), Word Press, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop) and direct mail campaign software such as Constant Contact.
• Design skills for marketing materials.
• Strong knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Word Press, Flickr, YouTube, Instagram, etc.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve results through creative and diverse strategies.
• Familiarity with film market and passion for movies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational skills, follow-through and persistence.
• Ability to be both engaging and professional when making presentations at events and meetings.
• Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and to succeed under pressure
• Detail-oriented and demonstrated attention to accuracy
• Able to work well in a team and independently
• Able to express a commitment to Vidiot's mission and an understanding of our programs.
• Experience in a nonprofit setting preferred but not required
Education and Experience
• Bachelors Degree in Business Marketing Communications highly preferred but not required
• Must have knowledge and experience in media marketing and promotions in a business and personal setting, 2-5+ years of experience.
• Knowledgeable with the Film /Entertainment industry in marketing, events, and programming.
• Experience in a nonprofit setting preferred but not required.
