VIBE: VP, Head of VIBE
We’re looking for a visionary VP, Head of VIBE – a dynamic cultural programmer, connector, and creative strategist – to lead the next era of the brand. This is not a traditional Editor-in-Chief role. Instead, you’ll function as the chief architect of VIBE’s cultural programming and brand identity, curating a calendar of video content, live experiences, and cultural moments that amplify our voice and relevance across the industry. You’ll work directly with artists, creators, music labels, entertainment execs, and cultural gatekeepers to program VIBE’s presence – both digitally and IRL. You'll also be the face of the brand, representing VIBE across media, events, panels, and the broader entertainment landscape.
As PMC values in-person collaboration and team cohesion, employees work onsite 4 days a week and 1 day remotely with a focus on maintaining a vibrant and inclusive culture.
What You’ll Do
Brand & Content Strategy
• Set the creative and cultural direction for the VIBE brand across all platforms (video, social, experiential, digital).
• Lead a cross-functional team to develop and program original content – think docuseries, artist conversations, short-form cultural commentary, etc.
• Establish and maintain a year-round editorial calendar of VIBE moments that resonate with music and culture fans.
Industry & Artist Relations
• Act as the primary liaison to music labels, talent reps, and artists, bringing them into the VIBE universe through video, events, and collaborative content.
• Cultivate deep relationships in the music, entertainment, fashion, and cultural spaces to ensure VIBE remains ahead of the curve and close to the culture.
Programming & Experiences
• Oversee the development and execution of live and digital events, from intimate artist salons to large-scale brand activations and cultural tentpoles.
• Collaborate with internal creative, production, and marketing teams to ensure seamless execution of VIBE’s programming vision.
Leadership & Brand Stewardship
• Serve as the public-facing leader of the VIBE brand, representing us on industry panels, in interviews, and at cultural events.
• Inspire and lead a team of creatives, producers, and editors to uphold VIBE’s tone, values, and vision in every touchpoint.
Who You Are
• A cultural curator with a deep understanding of music, Black culture, and the current media landscape.
• 10 years of experience in media, entertainment, music, or television programming – ideally in a senior content or brand leadership role.
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally across creative, production, partnerships, and talent.
• A strong and trusted industry network of artists, creatives, managers, and execs.
• Excellent communicator with on-camera charisma and the ability to speak on behalf of the brand with authenticity and authority.
• Comfortable operating in start-up mode: fast-moving, entrepreneurial, and hands-on.
