VP Product & Operations, UK Streaming 12Month Ftc
It is an exciting time to be joining ViacomCBS and as a result of our drive for streaming in the UK, we are currently seeking an experienced VP Product & Operations on a 12month Fixed Term Contract basis, to operate at the intersection of content operations, product and technology management, distribution and rights management. This role is responsible for the performance of the products, technology and operations teams and processes underpinning VCNI UK's streaming properties, which include the My5, Pluto, MTV Play and Noggin consumer services, including;
• the coordination, delivery and planning of product and platform migrations
• product releases and the launch of new features and functions
• establishing and driving an operational routine across multiple teams, including product, platform solutions, operations, and ad tech, with a particular emphasis on My5
Instrumental in planning the necessary technical/product/operations response to the changing commercial roadmap/prioritisation to plan, and will ensure that commercial ambitions are pursued by initiating and executing initiatives, processes and policies across the digital distribution chain.
Responsibilities
Team & leadership
• Build and maintain a high-performing team to develop and facilitate execution of the operations across 5 key fields:
• Product development
• Technical Solutions
• Quality & Technical Operations
• Content Operations
• Project Delivery
• Lead and manage a portfolio of projects/programs requiring change management strategy and plans
Planning
• Lead the technical planning function supporting the creation and maintenance of detailed project plans to effectively communicate deliverables and timelines to key stakeholders and management
• Manage key cross-functional product / tech / ops projects and forecasting and long-range planning process
• Facilitate departmental budget planning and execution, including coordination and effective submission of all VCNI UK capex / opex requests for the department
Performance
• Establish and monitor KPI's for the product, technology and operations function of VCNI UK streaming business to measure continuous improvement
• Incorporate usability, research and market insights into product requests to VCNI / VCBS tech / product teams
• Ensure the performance (dev ops, sys ops) and development priorities of backend systems and APIs (CMS systems, video ingestion, transcoding, delivery, etc.) that power UK Streaming products / platforms
Influence & Relationships
• Influence non-VCNI UK product development teams (e. VCBS US product tech & ops, Sky Media ad ops) to inform product strategy, feature prioritization for UK and ensure the successful delivery of customer-centric, best-in-class products/features for the UK market/consumer
• Work closely with the VCNI/VCBS tech leads and the global technology organization to understand VCNI / VCBS global technology strategy and align UK product technology and operations roadmap with that
• Build and manage relationships with any external providers, developers, vendors, and other partners as required, to ensure they meet their commitments and budget responsibilities
Operations
• Establish operational processes for the UK streaming team and be accountable for operational excellence of technology across products
• Champion continuous improvement of operational processes, incorporating / recommending new technologies as needed
• Apply knowledge of the content management systems to ensure all content deliveries and launches meet a high technical and quality standard, are completed in a timely manner and in compliance with business policies
• Input into content acquisition agreements and oversee the management of rights metadata, tracking, data and reporting for the fulfilment of obligations to content producers / suppliers
• Put in place procedures for regular quality control and reporting on the status of content availability across various distribution points, including documenting, troubleshooting (with appropriate teams), and escalating issues - ultimately driving to resolution through collaboration with VCNI UK / VCNI/VCBS US / Pluto US colleagues or external partners (i.e. Sky Media)

What skills do you need
• Significant experience in product management or product design leading significant cross-organizational projects
• Experience of digital operations management in a digital media company or broadcaster, and/or technical architecture of web applications will be a bonus
• Proven experience of resourcing and developing teams - able to lead and motivate staff members to achieve their goals
• Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and effectively collaborate in a dynamic, cross-functional matrix environment
• A keen eye for identifying and analysing efficiency opportunities, particularly relating to core business processes and user workflow
• Experience of tools such as JIRA/Confluence, Asana etc.
