Overview
Activation is a group dedicated to campaign development and execution across the ViacomCBS cable brands (minus BET) in partnership with our Ad Sales teams. The Tentpole & Experiential Activation team works across brands to develop multi-platform and OTG marketing extensions for our partners tied to tentpoles and experiences that support our brand IP.
The Tentpole & Experiential team partners with our channel teams as well as Velocity Pitch, Creative, and Activation teams. They develop custom, integrated marketing solutions that deliver on client critical metrics and drive cultural conversation. The team is tasked with architecting content and/or experiential led programs tied to our tentpoles, our fan-facing experiences and bespoke OTG client events. The team is specifically responsible for concept development, activation, program management, and production resource management (internal & external).
We work on projects including but not limited to - Video Music Awards, Kids Choice Awards, Kid of the Year, CMT Awards, Paw Patrol Tour, Vidcon, Wild n' Out Tour, bespoke client activations, and many more! Our goal is to drive revenue by crafting content and fan experiences tapping into our biggest IP on behalf of our clients.
The Vice President will lead a team dedicated to these areas of our business and will report to the two SVPs of Activation who respectively lead the teams for the MTV Entertainment Group & the Nickelodeon Group. This role is responsible for driving upfront and scatter revenue for our Tentpole & Experiential businesses while managing and developing the team. The VP will monitor trends and innovations we can fuel with our IP. They will support our channel's priorities by bringing partners on to support them. This role will ensure we flawlessly activate our Tentpole & Experiential marketing partnerships.
Responsibilities
• The Activation Vice President supports the Activation SVPs and oversees a team of 4-5 people. They develop the team through coaching, quarterly check-ins and mentoring.
• Proactively develops marketing programs with our channel partners tied to their priority IP, shows and experiences.
• Manages the development and execution of revenue-driving experiential opportunities and supporting content tied to our tentpoles, events, and channel priorities.
• Collaborates with Pitch & Activation leaders to develop proactive offerings for the upfront marketplace as well as real-time offerings for the scatter marketplace.
• Stays abreast of innovations for content and experiences, employing the latest trends and technology to ensure ground breaking, best-in-class marketing!
• Presents holistic marketing programs and recaps to our biggest partners for Tentpoles & Experiential activations.
• Coordinates tentpole branded content execution with show producers and liaises with Activation account teams to manage client feedback and approvals.
• Works with all major social platforms to bring new products to market for our partners and deliver sold campaigns.
• Champions experiential marketing within Velocity and communicates/advocates for channel priorities and Sales goals.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree with at least 10 years of experience developing and executing multiplatform marketing programs with a focus on experiential/event activation

• Excellent written and oral presentation skills; comfortable presenting to large audiences
