The Vice President Creative Director, Viacom Velocity Entertainment Group will oversee the creative and development of branded entertainment to air across platforms for Comedy Central and The Paramount Network.
This person will the guide the creative strategy and execution for a diverse range of campaigns, delivering best in class creative that resonates with our audience and delivers on the promises of our brands and our partner’s objectives. He or she will lead the development of original, custom branded content as well as episodic branded entertainment series, including linear, digital, and social-first content.
The role is expected to lead and inspire a creative team, including creative directors, writers, producers and editors. The ideal candidate will be able to give insightful creative direction, foster an environment of experimentation and inspire trust and collaboration. This role will streamline approvals, handle multiple projects at a time, all while maintaining a holistic oversight of all of the team’s work from conception through execution, and continually pushing creative boundaries.
The VP CD must be a forward thinker, excellent writer, with a breadth of knowledge and experience creating content for all platforms, and will be expected to pitch and present concepts in persuasive and dynamic ways to both internal and external stakeholders.
The VP CD will report directly to the Viacom Velocity SVP.
Responsibilities
• Lead and oversee the creation of branded content for Comedy Central and The Paramount Network, across all platforms from linear, digital, social
• Creative direct, lead and manage a team
• Deliver the highest quality creative product that is on strategy and in the voice of our brands
• Oversee team assignments, workflow and creative resources
• Supervise and review work to ensure all goals are met and creative quality is upheld to the highest standard??
• Partner with Velocity Integrated Marketing counterparts on pitches and executions
• Communicate creative strategy and concepts to key stakeholders including clients, agencies, Series EPs, brand teams and more
• Partner with Audience Research and Insights group to strengthen creative concepts through audience insights.
• Communicate clearly and in a timely manner with all internal and external parties
• Critical Skills
• Proven leader with demonstrated experience to nurture talent within a diverse team
• Excellent creative and writer – capable of writing concepts and scripts for execution
• Dynamic and engaging presenter of creative ideas and concepts
• Creative power-house with extensive track record of delivering world class creative
• Effectively manages multiple projects in a fast paced, ever changing environment
• Strong presentation abilities as a means to build consensus around strategic objectives and project plans; can pitch.
• Thorough knowledge of all production and post production process and technologies
• Extensive hands-on on-set directing experience a plus
Basic Qualifications
• 10 years creative positions, namely Creative Director & above at Advertising Agency, Production or Media companies.
• Prior employment as director or above at entertainment company or agency
• Undergraduate degree in Fine Arts or related field; or equivalent visual design and management experience required
