Social Media Manager/Reporter, We Need to Talk (''WNTT'')
WE NEED TO TALK, the first-ever nationally televised all-female sports talk show, is currently a monthly program featuring a rotating panel of esteemed women who share their knowledge, opinions and perspectives as they interview the newsmakers of the day, and explore hot-button issues across the sports landscape. The award-winning panel includes journalists, reporters, and industry executives Tracy Wolfson, Dana Jacobson, Lesley Visser, Andrea Kremer, Amy Trask, Aditi Kinkhabwala, Tina Cervasio, and Sarah Kustok. They are joined by a roster of notable women athletes -- Lisa Leslie, Swin Cash, Summer Sanders, Dara Torres, Katrina Adams and Laila Ali.
The CBS Sports Social Media team creates and distributes all content posted from CBS Sports, CBS Sports Network, and CBS Sports Digital's social media channels. In a sports media landscape that's cluttered with noise, we take pride in building creative concepts that cut through with our audience and represent the values of our brand.
This position is a unique opportunity for a qualified candidate to work in partnership with the CBS Sports Social Media Team and the WNTT production team to develop a voice and social presence for the brand through creation of unique, engaging social content. This candidate will help to drive the digital migration of the WNTT brand with the goal of leveraging key social platforms to establish a presence and grow awareness.
A candidate must have experience as a content creator and ''on-air'' host with a keen understanding of social platform ecosystems, a proven ability to identify trending stories and then develop engaging social commentary around those stories, and the talent and passion to serve as a key contributor to the WNTT team.
Responsibilities:
• Establish voice and strategy for CBS' We Need to Talk social platform; give new energy to a brand that is looking for a soft relaunch
• Develop original creative concepts in reaction to ongoing social conversation in sports
• Work with social designers and video editors to build editorial and promotional content from scratch
• Engage a younger audience (16-30) using topics and platforms that resonate appropriately
• Gather and share competitive insights from across the sports industry with broadcast production and digital teams
• Coach and train the panel of WNTT talent to use their own social and community identities to amplify the brand; ensure they are aware and actively reposting where needed
• Collaborate with WNTT talent on potential off-air social segments and weekly programs
• Engage with (tag or DM) current, past and future guests on the show to encourage their amplification of show clips and content
• Communicate with peers on the Marketing, Programming, Production, and Editorial teams to establish voice and social content that fulfills the various needs of the company
• Weave in awareness campaigns focusing on priority content from upcoming broadcasts of the show, including features and guest appearances

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
• 3-5 years relevant experience
• Ability to perform interesting and insightful interviews with key figures in the sports landscape, including athletes, coaches, etc. and to contribute to social segments and commentary on the WNTT linear programs.
• Strong familiarity with and passion for all mainstream sports
• Excellent copywriting skills
• Strong familiarity with all major social media platforms, especially: Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and Facebook
• Understanding of what moves the needle in a cluttered sports landscape on social media
• Willingness to adapt working schedule to the sports calendar and production schedule, often on nights and weekends
• Ability to work under under tight deadlines and extremely fast turnaround times
Preferred:
• Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, Premiere, and After Effects
• Ability to deliver informed, passionate and engaging opinions in reaction to breaking news and major storylines
