Overview and Responsibilities
The SVP, Marketing for ViacomCBS will be responsible for driving all facets of cross-company marketing for one of the largest and most important media and entertainment companies in the world. You will serve as a critical partner to ViacomCBS corporate and marketing leadership in delivering against a key pillar to unlocking the power, potential and value of the new company through marketing.
This role will help set and operationalize cross-company marketing strategies to deliver performance, efficiency and revenue by optimizing, aligning and enhancing marketing support across the company’s massive audience footprint.
You will deploy the full marketing power of ViacomCBS in support of the company’s biggest priorities. This means serving as a key strategic partner for divisional leadership, their marketing leaders, and external marketing partners in promoting our biggest
franchises across the portfolio.
You will also help optimize owned promotional media across the largest TV audience, and provide strategic counsel regarding media provided by 3rd party partners. This means acting as a champion and key collaborator with functional partners such as research, media planning, ad sales, affiliate distribution, procurement and others to build a smarter promotional ecosystem to drive impact and efficiency.
The role will work closely with the company’s Marketing Council, and lead a hybrid central and embedded team dedicated to cross-company marketing.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 15 years direct experience in Marketing, preferably with significant consumer marketing and operations
• Experience in the entertainment/media industry required
Additional Qualifications
• A track record in the development and implementation of major marketing initiatives including advertising campaigns, promotions and events
• A deep understanding and sophistication around traditional and digital media (owned, third party and social), the subject area of media planning, and the role of audience data in fueling optimization
• Highly strategic and creative, proactive and able to consistently supply to new ideas and identify opportunities, then lead them to fruition
• An ease and expertise at collaborating with and counseling senior management
• Validated ability to effectively lead and develop teams, and provide strategic and creative direction
• Strong ability to build consensus and work across divisions and functions
• Exceptional oral and written skills, superb analytical skills
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
• Entrepreneurial spirit and an adopt of change
• Strong organizational skills, the ability to troubleshoot problems and provide successful resolution
