Overview and Responsibilities
The SVP, Design will be responsible for the creative development and execution of all ViacomCBS design projects. The role requires a conceptual advertising and branding specialist with strong design, leadership and client skills to work across all of our platforms. We’re looking for someone proficient in multiple mediums – from TV and print to digital and social -- with a desire to develop a team that builds outstanding work.
Candidate will bring high level design and visual communication capability, a broad visual vocabulary, and peer-recognized experience. This role requires a high level of leadership skills including the capacity to be responsible for large scale, high impact projects. They will also possess the ability to lead a fast paced, high volume workload. The role will bring new partnerships and new talent to the organization to ensure we have the outstanding design storytellers.
Responsibilities
• Work with Creative Directors and Production Management to ideate, develop and execute campaign creative.
• Oversee design and execution of all channel branding elements, ensuring consistency and quality across platforms and campaigns.
• Work with network production and development teams to develop and execute show packaging.
• Lead multiple design teams of (internal/external) talent. Lead and mentor a staff of Design Directors, Art Directors and Designers.
• Coordinate copy development for all design projects.
• Direct internal and external photographers, photo editors and producers
• Must be capable of making independent decisions on own work as well as the work of their direct reports. Review larger projects with senior executive leadership. Self-directed and makes decisions on behalf of their direct reports.
• Must be able to translate feedback into significant design notes.
Basic Qualifications
• BA, BFA, Graphic Design, Advertising Design, Advertising or equivalent
• 15 years in design, media, and/or relevant entertainment industry experience
• 10 years of art direction/project lead experience and handling creative teams
• Advanced skills in motion and print design, demonstrating strong creative and art direction abilities
• Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, AfterEffects, InDesign)
Additional Qualifications
• Flexibility with travel required
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Experience directing photo shoots and working with celebrity talent
• Able to work in a very fast faced and deadline driven environment.
