Summary:
The podcasting team within ViacomCBS focuses on the business, production, and marketing of podcasting across the entire portfolio including MTV, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, Star Trek, CBS Sports, Showtime and others. We create hit podcasts based on popular IP like, the upcoming MTV: Behind The Music, The Daily Show with Trevor Noah: Ears Edition, Star Trek: The Pod Directive, Blues Clues & You: Storytime with Josh & Blue, and more.
In tandem with Daily Show producers and talent, will be responsible for the creation and development of the Daily Show podcast slate as the show continues to expand into the space. Will be charged with exploring and developing new formats, executing new creative strategies and helping to create and build on the audio storytelling platform established by The Daily Show: Ears Edition and The Daily Show Podcast Universe.
The ideal candidate should have a strong comedic sensibility and be an experienced producer and audio storyteller who is well-versed in conversations around news, politics, pop culture, and race.
Job Responsibilities:
-In conjunction with Daily Show producers, help lead the expansion of the The Daily Show podcasting slate
-Work collaboratively with a large production team, including the host, other producers, and editors across all TDS podcasts
-Attend weekly editorial and production meetings for all podcasts and provide guidance on story/topic/guest selection
-Facilitate regular evaluation and feedback on shows' creative
-Set and plan long-range editorial calendar
-Work with members of the podcast team on audience engagement / growth and marketing best practices
-Work with production team on show and talent budget, evaluating and iterating as necessary to meet financial goals
-Work with sales and marketing to help promote their efforts in the editorial space
Experience:
-A minimum of 4 years production experience in radio, podcasting, or equivalent
-Strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to delegate and prioritize effectively across multiple projects
-Ability to structure a funny, compelling, and unique audio story
-Ability to work with and lead a collaborative production team and help guide and shape the editorial direction of multiple podcasts
-Experience working and managing a tight production schedule
-A knack for delivering clear, conscientious feedback on both stories and performance
