Overview and Responsibilities:
Paramount is a market leading content company in the Programmatic CTV streaming space with over 70M monthly full episode viewers across our free and paid streaming platforms. Our portfolio includes: SVOD with Ads (Paramount ), Free Ad Supported TV (Pluto TV, CBSN, ET Live, & CBS Sports HQ), & TV Everywhere (MTV, MTV, VH1, Paramount, Comedy Central, & BET). The Vice President, Advertising Business Development & Streaming Partnerships role will be responsible for two key areas across the entire Paramount portfolio:
• Advertising Business Development across Paramount€™s Distributor Platforms (App Platforms, TV OEMs, & MVPDs) in partnership with Paramount€™s Senior Ad Sales leadership & Distribution teams, driving Paramount€™s advertising policy requirements for properly executing all of Paramount€™s ad sales offerings in a highly competitive marketplace
• Business Development & Stewardship across Distributor Platforms & Local Resellers driving ad sales-based revenue that is complementary to Paramount€™s direct sales offering, EyeQ
• Key partnerships included but not limited to:
• Distributor Platforms: Amazon, Roku, Comcast, Charter, Dish/Sling, Samsung, LG, & Vizio
• Local Resellers: Gamut, Premion/TEGNA, Sinclair Broadcasting, Hearst, & Katz Media
The ideal candidate will be an individual who understands the Distributor Platform marketplace, with Programmatic CTV experience. This candidate should also have extensive business development experience, working directly with clients as well as key internal stakeholders on multi-year & multi-dimensional relationships. Additionally, this candidate will have management responsibilities and opportunities to grow a team with appropriate business support.
• Negotiate, in concert with senior Ad Sales leadership, key ad sales related business terms with Distributor Platforms, while partnering closely with Paramount€™s Streaming & Digital Business Development teams as well as Paramount Product, Ad Ops, Yield & Legal teams
• Steward ad sales-based relationships with all current Distributor Platforms with support from team, acting as primary Paramount POC with all partners, which includes general relationship building, client communications, deal health monitoring, & liaising with internal Paramount teams across business, product, finance, and ops related items
• Partner closely with Paramount€™s Streaming & Digital Business Development teams, owning recurring internal meetings in effort to drive strong working business relationships as well as become more proactive across both new distributor deals & upcoming renewals with existing partners
• Partner with senior Ad Sales leadership, Legal, Product, & Ad Ops on Paramount€™s core policies for key ad sales related terms for Distributor Platforms, with an understanding that terms may evolve in a dynamic marketplace
• Liaise with Paramount international counterparts for global Distributor Platform partnerships
• Strategize how and when Paramount should partner with Distributor Platforms for incremental ad sales related revenue opportunities outside of their affiliate inventory shares, with a lens towards protecting Paramount€™s core direct sales offering, EyeQ
• Vet, negotiate, and sign new Local Reseller partnerships, in addition to growing revenue from current relationships
• Partner with Head of Programmatic Partnerships to build out Paramount€™s local ad sales strategy for Programmatic Indirect Video monetization lanes, working closely with key Paramount direct ad sales stakeholders to maximize dollars in complementary way
• Drive important market requirements within Paramount in collaboration with Ad Ops, Product, Yield, Legal, & local Ad Sales
Basic Qualifications:
• 10 years of programmatic experience as a video specific publisher, MVPD, App Platform, TV Manufacturer, or Technology Vendor
Additional Qualifications:
• Deep understanding of CTV/FEP video landscape from a business perspective (SSPs, DSPs, Mediation/Header Platforms, App Platforms, etc.)
• Knowledge of business relationships between Distribution Platforms and TV centric video publishers
• Product & Ops knowledge of CTV/FEP a plus
• Excellent client facing skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead client meeting and own overall relationships
• First-rate analytical and quantitative skills, with a demonstrated ability to use data to drive business performance / decisions
