Marketing Executive - Nickelodeon
The Department:
Nickelodeon gives the ‘License’ to a wide range of companies (‘Licensees’), who manufacture products on our behalf, and pay us a ‘royalty’ – a % amount for each item sold.
The Consumer Products team is responsible for the Licensing process:- from signing Licensees to make the products; informing retailers about the strength of our properties; liaising with the Nick UK channel teams to ensure that product launches are aligned to the TV shows being on air; and securing space and implementing retail marketing activity in-stores.
Products categories span: Toys, Books, Home, DVD, Apparel, Accessories, Footwear, Video Games, etc.
Brand Management:
• Ownership of brand marketing decks:-
• Update at 3 key points annually:- Toy Fairs (Jan), Las Vegas Licensing Show(May), Brand Licensing Europe (Oct)
• Liaison with Programming team for continual understanding of series/episode scheduling
• Liaison with Research team on relevant and digestible ratings information
• Manage the Magazine advertising schedule (across 3x magazines)
• Manage the social media schedule and communicate to the Channel marketing team
• Support CP Snr Marketing Manager in developing UK brand strategy, keeping abreast of all insights needed to shape the strategy:- retail insights, consumer insights, other available research (UK Brand Survey, License tracker, etc.), competitive analysis
• Oversee the monthly licensee/retail newsletter distribution (developed by UK intern)
Retail Marketing:
• Assist in the development of a retail marketing calendar, with key activity for key accounts:-
• Asda/George, Tesco, Argos/Sainsbury’s, The Entertainer, Smyths and Amazon (and any other tactical campaigns)
• Working alongside the retail team, manage the implementation and execution of retail marketing activity for all accounts
• Liaise with Brand Marketing Team to support on-air/online/social campaigns which support retailers
• To brief, co-ordinate and manage the development and approvals of creative for retail campaigns across printed materials, TV and digital communications, i.e.:
• Point of sale, Online shops, TV adverts, Magazine adverts, Social media posts, Micro Sites, Competitions, Character events, DVD/publishing stings
• Work with retail manager to produce case studies for each campaign, providing a review of the marketing activity, and the marketing spend, to determine the ROI value
Finance:
• Manage the UK Consumer Products Marketing budget spreadsheet
• Determine, with CP Snr Marketing Manager, the allocation of budget across the year
• Raise all POs associated with cost centre
• Manage monthly check in with finance team
• Manage any recharges out to licensees for contributions to cross category activity
Trade advertising:
• Co-ordinate annual trade advertising plan
• Liaise with key Trade Publications/websites to define the trade advertising plan, and continue to identify innovative approaches to trade press
• Liaise with Nick UK comms director to understand editorial coverage across key trade channels
• Brief ad design into International CP creative team, following the trade ad creative direction
Product requests:
• Oversee all prizing requirements, i.e. retail competitions, online competitions (managed by UK intern)
• Manage Nick UK product demands, i.e. Nick Christmas Party (managed by UK intern)
• Evaluate need to supply products for adhoc retail activity (e.g. conferences, etc.), and manage UK intern to activate where necessary
Events:
• Manage Consumer Product Retail/licensing events with Events Manager and Snr Marketing Manager ensuring all relevant assets are produced in time for the event
• Oversee invite list for key events
• Manage the development of presentation materials for events
• Brief any requirements for creative / audiovisual elements needed for presentations
• Manage any product set ups required at events
• Manage venue bookings and ongoing logistics with venue contacts

• Ability to work with Microsoft Office including but not limited to Photoshop, Outlook, Powerpoint and Excel
• Knowledge of iOS is useful
